Out on my bike this morning, frozen,so decided to call in at costa coffee hyde,asked the batista if I could put my bike in the inside of the doorway coz I'd forget my lock,he said NO.Merry Christmas.
Went in this morning for two decaf takeaway teas. There were two members of staff behind the tell, one serving and one taking orders. Ordered my teas but was then waiting quite a while for it to be served, so I enquired with the female member of staff how long it would be. She replied I don't know. I noticed that they were preparing quite a lot of pre-orders which were delaying my order, along with everyone else who was waiting in the store. I then asked again shortly afterwards if we would be much longer, as politely as I could, and explain that I was in a bit of a rush. The guy doing my order then proceeded to tell me that I should not not being Costa coffee ordering drinks if I was in a rush! Already slightly annoyed, this was the point when I lost it! Whilst I appreciate the stuff I've only trained to do their job and they're generally quite busy, it would be nice if the customers in the shop actually got priority over all other orders. Waiting 10 or 15 minutes for two teas is not what I would call exceptional service, and then to be insulted just topped the biscuit. Needless to say I won't be going back there anytime soon!
Used to go here Great cafe Great staff Used to get large coffee or equivalent Sandwich when I can. Between any janusry - decemver 2023 to 2025 January to Jun etc can't remember what date exactly Sometimes I ised to get waffle Hot coco with marshmallow etc Depends in days I was in Staff are helpful including helping those with reading word They have nice display off cakes , biscuits and sandwiches They can be cold or cooked judt ask staff Price are different from each cup you have One I used to have like a massive bowl with to handle side by side. I not been recently Please check there website for opening times Facebook or others social media platforms they might be on. They sometimes bring new cakes you not seen. Muisc not to loud Has a nice space for extra customers to sit down Not just bottoms floor They aldi have disability access to That good. They have allergy warnings in place for customers as well Last bit not least Ask the company to fit Live streaming service in there Yoy get people across the world watching you service customers Twitch channel has tire 1 to tire 3 and twitch bits that 50/50 YouTube has subscribers to super chat YouTube super chat from £1 to £150 Just little idear for cafe to show what it like irl ( in real life) streams online It also great way for staff communicate to speak to there fans online while working Joshua Massey aka Jprincemassey Nice area as well Cross the road from jolly Carter pub So you not far from bus stop to hattersley or 201 bus go that way. Keep safe staff , ceo , owners of this cafe Don't nock it until you try thus places Some might get low score Best advice is Don't let it bring yoy down Can't please everyone who come here Side note please ask for identification Creative support or tameside support equivalent etc Personal reasons for not carrying I'd badges on them 1958 act And hiding there lyine yard in there clothes in public places it something I exsprenced Hope this helps others to beware They well know for this. Staff member with dark hair and tattoos was SO rude to me today for absolutely no reason whatsoever. I politely asked if my drink definitely had an espresso shot in as it tasted really weak/like milk. She sarcastically responded to my question by saying ‘it’s a latte’. When I asked for an extra shot she basically started arguing with me about it and then started making me another drink whilst laughing with the other girl behind the counter. I told her I wasn’t trying to be awkward and there’s no need to be rude. Her reaction was as though I’d insulted her personally - embarrassing.
I only buy coffee, as you can't go wrong. I don't buy food often as it is a bit on the expensive side and nothing special, but isn't bad.
I need to pass an hour or more in Hyde every morning and I always happily go to this Costa because the atmosphere is pleasant, staff are very friendly and attentive, I never have to wait long and it's clean.
Ordered a panini (which I literally handed to her, so couldn't be any confusion) and a Terry's Chocolate Orange hot chocolate. She asked if I wanted it to go, and I said yes. Somehow, that ended with the other guy making it in a glass. On second attempt, I got a Toblerone hot chocolate to go. On bringing that back, I explained that I don't usually complain but that it was like she hadn't listened to a word I'd said. I've probably even been charged extra for eating in, despite specifically saying to take away. No apologies from either member of staff, guy started to grumble as he started on third attempt. Usually nice in here but will NOT be coming back.
This particular Costa is a nice, spacious, light and airy space, with nice coffee and cakes served by friendly, hardworking staff (I've become a regular, and it can get very busy in there at times). The new(ish) manageress here seems to be running a 'tight ship', and yet she often goes the extra mile to find a little time to interact with customers and make them feel welcome.
It's a Costa, so you know what to expect. The coffee is very good and the staff are friendly. It's very welcome in the town: there is no other coffee chain and only a few cafes serving anything half decent. Here's hoping they thrive in the months ahead. **PLEASE IGNORE ANY REVIEWS PRIOR TO NOVEMBER 2019 WHEN THIS WAS A BUTCHER'S SHOP**
