   1st visit on 9th April, but I'm not sure I'd visit again, beer pumps need a clean out as lager on 2 different pumps tasted 'funky' - hence not cleaned compared to other pubs in the area

   NO DOGS I've had an unfortunate experience here. I came here with a friend for their birthday. We took our dogs with us. As we entered the premises, with the plan of asking if the dogs were ok in the garden, we quickly discovered that dogs can't come to this pub. A rottweiler attacked my friend's lurcher, then chased her down the road when she tried to escape the attack. My friend put herself between them to fight the rottweiler off, and after injuring both dog and owner, came towards me with my Collie pup. I was able to get her out of danger. We contacted the pub after taking the lurcher to the vet, and the landlord covered the cost, with a little extra as an apology. When we went to the pub to talk to the landlord, they had placed a sign saying "No dogs welcome". The landlord was very cooperative and was apologetic, but I got the impression he wasn't willing to deal with the root of the issue. What would've happened if we had a child with us?

   Looking for a place to enjoy the night with good people then this is the place. Free pool on Wednesday for those who enjoy a good game with a pint. They also have a team who have won a lot of trophies as well as the darts girls so well done for that. They have karaoke all weekend and then karaoke competition on a Monday which is fun but also you get to see Hyde for some of its good talent. Not often a place for trouble and any time there is any then it's dealt with immediately to allow the good people to enjoy their night. Also run by a brilliant landlord and landlady who are friendly to everyone and join in with the fun.
