I used to go in here regularly when I lived in Hyde many years ago until it changed hands and went rapidly down hill. It became a haven for drug using low life so I stopped going in. However, I went back there a few months ago for the Speedquiz which is on every Sunday night and it's changed so much for the better. The staff are very friendly, there's a great choice of drinks and there's a good atmosphere about the place. It's great to see how much it's improved under the current management. They also do a lot of fund raising for various charities. It feels more like a traditional community pub now and I go back there whenever I can. Highly recommended for a few quiet drinks but especially for the Sunday quiz night which is very entertaining.
Absolutely brilliant old school pub, and the landlord and staff were brilliant, and the band were cracking
Never been here before but there was a band playing that we wanted to see. Great that some pubs are still willing to have live music. Really busy but the staff were excellent so no problem getting served. Although there was a choice of bitters it's a shame that there was no cask ale. A good looking pub and a friendly atmosphere and the band were brilliant so a really enjoyable Saturday night.
The jolly carter hosted a joint 21st for 2 of our boys, the staff were all amazing and made us feel very welcome, we highly recommend this pub for future parties and nights out!

Should have more bar staff on waited 20 minutes and walked out, but otherwise nice pub
Love this pub, always feel welcome and Carl is an excellent landlord and he keeps the nicest pint of Boddingtons Bitter in the whole of Greater Manchester. Every single visit his beer is spot on. The glasses are always clean, the pub is too and all the customers are having a great time and there is never any mither. The staff are fantastic too. I totally love this pub.
