An excellent real ale pub, but the experience is somewhat marred by the cash only policy. I can see why they do it, but its' flying in the face of reality. I have walked past their door many a time without going in simply because I had no cash.
Nice cosy pub, friendly staff. Menu is very good value and my jacket potato was cooked perfectly. Will definitely be returning
This is a great real ale pub. Totally unpretentious- great beer and food. Also the pub dog is rather fabulous!
Good old style pub,small menu but the food is good. A Hugh selection of beers from around Europe. The staff are friendly older clients but nothing wrong with that. Overall a good pub on the same Street where TJ Hughes was.
Visiting Oldham with Madge so visited this CAMRA Good Beer Guide pub with five real ales. The inside is a little dowdy but characterful. Excellent pint of Goose Eye brewery 4.5% Golden Goose. Food and drink is excellent value. £6 for the curry. A few Altrincham football fans in for their game at Oldham. I have been an away fan at Boundary park a few times. An open end, winter winds bringing sleet off the Pennines. It's like an Attenborough documentary of Penguins in the Antarctic!
Great service, fabulous beer and a great atmosphere. Not sure you could ask for anything more Been back to The Ashton Arms on 18.03. 6 different real ales on I had two and my mate had two. All four were excellent.
Very good pub, with a wide variety of Beer's and ales. And friendly staff .
Walked in asked for a pint got served then was told once paid I had to leave cause was with someone who was bard. One wasn't with him, two didn't get money back.
Very welcoming and accomodating, cheap prices for great real ale and lovely sandwiches and toasties. Just remember to bring cash as it's cash only
Love this pub. Really good selection of beer and gin, staff are always lovely, and they have vegan options on the menu! 2 quid for a vegan cheese and onion toasty, brilliant!
