   I went shopping in Matalan during half term. I bought a pair of jeans and a pair of slip on sandals. When l went to pay, a sales assistant at the checkout asked if l was paying by card. I said yes, so she took me to a self scan till where she proceeded to scan my items. She told me l just needed to pay with my card. During the whole process, l felt pressured and rushed. I'm more than capable of using a self-serve checkout. When l got home, the shoes were the wrong size because they were on a size 3 hanger but were, in fact, a size 5. If l'd scanned them myself, l would have spotted this. I now need to go back for an exchange. Very annoying, particularly as there was no queue at the tills. Other than this, there is plenty of choice at fair prices.

   Staff member in store at Merry Hill didn't want to help me to find the correct size of trousers just turned around and said you will have to go onto the app to find correct size which I required

   Great value, not waiting in queue long although was a big queue. Not got what I was looking for that was draw curtains that I wanted for my living room, only available online. Not best pleased but good for clothes and homeware.

   I visit rarely but picked up a few dresses as I'd got a Love to Shop voucher to spend. Nothing ,outstanding, just everyday items. There's always something new here as stock turns over quickly. Couldn't find a tankini or bikini bottoms in my size, must be lots going abroad as we all need some sun.

   I’ve been in to the store this evening and walked out again, it’s gone totally downhill. It actually smells like unwashed clothes in there and the stock is awful. It used to be such a lovely shopping experience.

   Not as good as it used to be. Choice for mens clothes is very poor in store. One aisle is baby and toddler, the back is houseware, 2 aisles for women, three quarters of an aisle for men and a quarter of that is shoes. They seem to be concentrating in online shopping...i prefer to touch and try on before purchasing. The checkout has reduced in size with even fewer cashiers making the wait time longer. The store cards never work with a swipe, both me and my wife always end up manually entering the number. I don't really see the point of them as you can still purchase without one and you spend less time at the till. I used to love this shop and bought the majority of my clothes from here but mot anymore
