Great pub with a fantastic atmosphere! The food was really tasty and freshly prepared — you can tell they put care into what they serve. I had the fish and chips while my sister had the scampi, both were brill! There was live music later on while we were there, which really added to the vibe. Loads of outdoor seating at both the front and back, perfect for sunny days. Plus, parking was no issue at all with the large car park. Will definitely be returning!

The Hopwood is a warm and inviting pub with a good mix of classic and modern dishes on the menu. The food was great – fresh, well presented, and served hot. Portions were generous without being over the top. Staff were friendly and attentive without hovering. The space is clean and nicely decorated, with plenty of seating inside and a decent outdoor area for warmer days. It’s a good spot for a casual meal with family or friends, and there’s usually a relaxed atmosphere even when it’s busy. Parking is easy and the location is convenient just off the main road.

As it was such a lovely day yesterday, I decided to have a walk up the canal with my sidekick to get a drink and some tea at the Hopwood arms. It was just after 4 and the place was very busy. Managed to get a table with enough space for my daughters wheelchair to fit. After 2 pints, I ordered barbecue ribs and garlic mushrooms for my starter off the specials board and rump steak for my main. The starters were delicious and good large portion sizes and the rump steak was cooked perfectly. We will definitely be returning and all you dog lovers can take your dogs here, as dogs are very welcome

Took my Rotweiler a few times, it's nice to go in a pub with a big dog and people don't look down on him. The staff give him treats and come and stroke him, always a filled water bowl. Great food & they do dog Sunday dinners which go down a treat for £2.50 & a lovely normal roast dinner too. The food menu has a lot of variety. Brilliant view of the canal from the carpark. We love it here

We turned up today for my mum's 90th birthday as this is where she wanted to go for food. We was really disappointed as when we arrived we bought our drinks and was then told that we couldn't have food as the chef didn't turn up. We then had to find a last minute place for 21 people attending her birthday meal. I'm sorry to say we won't be back again.

Great vibes Clean and tidy bar staff are helpful and attentive even have a conversation with you! Prices are reasonable, Not tried the food yet but been told it's spot on I will be back! They have a pool table a juke box and other bar games and a kids play area which are hard to find in a pub in Rochdale. 10/10
