Last minute decision to go in on a Wednesday evening after being told how good the food is. Great value for money for pub grub favourites. We tried the steak pie with home cooked chips which was delicious and fish and chips which was good. Also we ordered a meat and potato pie and fries with gravy from the children menu and our daughter finished the lot and the portion size was big. Good selection on drinks I tried their Guinness which was excellent, a great pint. The staff was welcoming and friendly and we would definitely be returning. A little hidden gem for a quick no frills pub food meal.
Visited for lunch with my mum who had seen the daily special of a lamb roast dinner advertised on social media. We arrived just 12 minutes after opening (12.12pm) to be told they were sold out of the daily special? How I don't know as the place had 2 tables seated, the rest were empty. I questioned how it could be sold out just minutes after opening and nobody in there, to be rudely told you have to order it via social media and to order something else off the normal menu instead, no apology, no 'normal' menu offered to us, nothing. Nowhere on the original advertising post did it say daily specials need to be ordered in advance, there was an elderly couple behind us who were a little upset as they'd taken 2 buses down to try this too. Terrible way of operating and terrible customer service. Needless to say we left and went to another local pub for a pub lunch. Will not be returning
We tried the festive treats. Wow! Lush. Loaded Tatter Tots! Could have eaten them twice - so good. Great service. Lovely homely atmosphere. Staff are great. Will return for more loveliness. Really good prices too.
Visited for the first time on Tuesday with my son whilst in the area for a few days. Wasn't sure what to expect but had seen good reviews on social media. Very impressed with the extensive menu, prices and cosiness of the pub. Our food was served quickly, piping hot and the portion size was good. Will definitely be back. How have I never been before ?
Great food and decor. Pets allowed which is great for some but not for those with allergies.
Nice local pub, the staff are friendly enough, the food was nice but my salmon was frozen not fresh, l would rather pay a bit more for fresh. The outside area is fairly big and secure so good if children are with you. Would go again.
