Friendly JW Lees pub. Good atmosphere and small beer garden at the rear.

Lovely pub however, passive aggressive owner and turned off the football and music during the england finale. Felt unwelcome and unappreciated. Especially considering we were the only customers in the pub. Felt condescending as we are young adults.

Spoilt by usual idiots men and women who are from the dark ages ,swearing and cackling even with children and people with a decent behaviour in the bar . No need to hear fuc&k cu£t every 5 seconds . Not difficult for owners to tell regulars to keep the swearing down .

Had a catch up with friends on a Thursday evening. This was my first time at The Hollins Bush after years of driving past. There was ample parking to the rear of the pub accessed via the nearby flats residential car park. It is a really lovely little pub with a cosy atmosphere. The young man on the bar was friendly and quick to serve us, and regularly collected our empty glasses too. They have a small beer garden at the back which was lit with fairy lights and we have already said we will come back for in the warmer weather. Pity they don't do food or I think this would be a regular place for us to meet up, but I would still definitely recommend The Hollins Bush

Had supper here in April 2019. Nice enough JW Lees pub, much better than it used to be and busy in the evenings which is a good sign. Food was good enough for the nice, I had a spicy veg curry which was reasonable. Beer garden at the rear and car park too, but mostly it's friendly locals. Guess they shift more food early evening as it was hard getting served and there was less focus on the beer. If you live in Hollins this is pretty much your only option, but it's better than most people get.

Basing this review over a number of different experiences. Decor is great which is why it’s got two stars rather than one. Food is okay ( ish ) which we would put up with if the atmosphere was nice and everything else was nice. However, We have had 4 or 5 separate experiences where we have found the landlady abrupt and rude. Very disappointing to be honest but our last experience means none of us will be going again. I’d rather spend my money in a restaurant or pub that appreciates their customers and makes them feel welcome and valued.
