   A great Stockport pub It’s cash only, and they also do basically dirt cheap alcohol free options for anyone who would wish to visit without consuming alcohol, and the beer garden is one of the greatest, and most unique that I’ve ever been to — you feel like you’re in your own world here Also Guinness is back on draught at £5.60 a pint, which is fine with me

   What a beautiful pub!! We first discovered stockport for afternoon drinking ( before lockdown) from a trip out with our local historian and Sentinel writer Mervyn Edwards.. we fell in love with the preserved Victorian history and friendly locals...since then we travel from stoke and stay over regularly. This visit I particularly wanted to discover the Star and Garter. Stunning building...on entrance we were warmly welcomed by barman Craig.. it was fascinating to learn about the pubs history and Craig's family working within the pub trade for generations. Of course we enjoyed Robinsons Iron Maiden bitter.. a perfect pint..a creamy head all the way down the glass! A cash only pub... my husband always supports Cash is King ! A lovely traditional friendly local pub.. we'll definitely visit again.

   I'm.a Cask Ale fan ,Not available here ,But ! I enjoyed the Lagers I had , CASH ONLY ! Suits me , A very pleasant place to visit, Regulars are very decent folk ,As are Bar staff

   Nice pub with a great selection of beers. Lobe the courtyard and the historic pictures in the bar area. A real lovely, local pub. I love in the area and use the Blossoms, it's one stop shop, however will include the star and garter in my Friday afternoon session.
