Kate - is amazing! She will get head hunted with service like that. She went above and beyond on multiple. Communication was very efficient. Also dealt with a problem really well and kept me updated all the way. Car was returned 4 days earlier than planned - bonus. But Kate was great, really appreciate her communication & support. 10326
After a minor bump which required the replacement of a door skin. 7 weeks later and 3 unsuccessful repairs, we are still awaiting the return of the car after the fourth repair. Customer service 5/5. Ability to repair bodywork 1/5. Avoid if possible. Complaint has been lodged with the insurance company. We have no wish to continue using them. I've upgraded to 2*, they finally managed a good paint job. At least they're understanding, just not sure why nobody is checking the paint sprayers work before it's sent out.

"Our car was referred to Alton Cars by our insurance company for extensive front and side damage repair. The repair process took longer than originally quoted, but this was understandable given factors such as part delays and staff holidays. We were consistently impressed by the professionalism of the entire team, from Kate at reception to Steve, Neil, Chris, and Adam. They were upfront and honest with us about the timeline, even admitting that the job 'hadn't been one of their finest moments' at the start. A persistent issue was a 'clunking' noise at low speeds. We wanted reassurance that after all the work on the transmission, suspension, and alignment, the car would be safe and restored to its original condition. Adam oversaw the repair and showed great dedication by leaving instructions for the team to investigate the noise while he was on vacation. Steve ultimately found the source of the problem: Which involved some "Gaffa Tape",which clearly gave up after the collision & a loose (broken during new tyre fitting) Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) sensor that needed to be replaced and reprogrammed. The team at Alton Cars truly went above and beyond to ensure our satisfaction. They not only completed the repair to a high standard but also had the vehicle MOT'd during its stay. We have had the car back for a few days and are delighted with the result. We would recommend Alton Cars, given the positive outcome of our experience."
My car was sent here through my insurance. Just got my car back after 10 days. Fantastic work the car looks great so happy with the repairs. From the customer service on the phone to the guys who picked up and dropped off my car I cannot fault them . Polite and professional. Thankyou Denise
Very disappointing. My partner had the unfortunate pleasure of dealing with this company after her car was taken there for an insurance repair. On return of the courtesy car she was held against her will in their building by 3 blokes and told she wasn't leaving until she paid 900 pounds for two tiny curb marks on the wheels and a car park dent which required a paintless dent removal. She was very distraught afterwards when she called me. These jobs could have probably be sorted for around 300ish not 900 which we would have gladly paid. I know this as I work in the car trade myself. They are obviously more interested in charging the earth for minor repairs rather than actually painting parts of my car the right colour. Seriously like black and white the difference. therefore I will never take or recommend anyone take their car to them again. Absolute rip off
Disappointing! My insurance company sent me to the High Peak branch for a body repair. I was given the use of a courtesy car which I signed for saying I was happy there were no scratches or damage. Upon return they went over the courtesy car with a fine tooth comb and found a scratch no more than 1 centimetre in length. Which is hard to see when you do a quick check of the body work when collecting the car.They told me that I had to pay £240 for the repair which I couldn’t argue with as I had accepted the car in good condition. My experience will lead to me not recommending this company in future as they seem very keen to find any fault and offering no goodwill
Avoid. Garage did not honour their warranty on bodywork repairs completed!! The front bumper and both wings had an obvious paint defect alongside general bubbles, runs and dust inclusion. The original scope of the work was for bumper replacement only. Spraying the the wings was not in the agreed scope. When I took the car back to complain they failed to acknowledge the paint issues. I involved my insurance company who sent the car to another garage to be assessed. They confirmed the paint issues and arranged for my car to be repaired. I now have a car which has had far more extensive paintwork repairs than originally required due to the poor workmanship of Alton Cars. Not a happy customer at all. Look elsewhere if you want a proper job and good customer service.
Third parties insurance company asked is to use these guys who were a bit of an unknown. It was the wife's car so she dealt with it all the way through- she was very impressed with the people and the communications. Job looks good- neat panel gaps and paint finish- they even filled a nasty scratch in FOC!
