Thanks to Allan and the team, my juke needed new subframe bushes and was told they only come with the subframe. £1000 plus fitting. Allan sourced the bushes seperate and installed them saving me a fortune.

Unprofessional and unethical. Tried to fabricate repairs to recoup losses. My car failed an MOT (outside this garage) because the rear driver's side wheel wasn't braking at all with the hand brake. Needed a new cable. They saw the car, put it on the lift and provided me with a quote to replace both cables at my request. By the afternoon of the second day and after chasing, I got a call from Alan and to my surprise it wasn't ready and I was told the car "needed" a new caliper on the passenger side. The MOT recorded an issue on the driver's side, and now I was being told there was an issue on the other side. Found this a bit strange, both calipers are 10 months old. In the first call I asked why it needed replacing and Alan was vague about it, saying he didn't know why it failed, which is true, techs can't pinpoint why things fail, but it was just what he was "seeing". On the second call he added more detail because I kept asking and he said that he had the car on the rollers, because they also do MOTs there and it wasn't recording the same braking power for both sides with the handbrake. I asked him to show me the issue, which he kindly agreed and when we were under the car he demonstrated the differences between both calipers. He showed me that the "faulty" caliper had an issue with the spring mechanism, but it wasn't either binding the wheel and when Alan applied pressure to the mechanism and I tugged at the wheel it was locking. Alan reacted to this saying that with the rollers will be different, not the same amount of force (wasn't the car already tested, at least that's what you said on phone??!) I asked what was the difference in braking % between wheels which Alan replied around 25% (out of the air, without a paper or report from when the car was on supposedly on the rollers) and if this would fail the MOT, which he replied most likely (again, didn't you say previously you had the car on the rollers?). I wasn't convinced by his answers in person and on the phone and declined the repairs. Now here's the interesting bit. The lovely gentleman from reception, when I was paying told me the following: - Never should have taken on this job - Took them 5 hours (I was quoted and paid 2,5) - The cables ordered were the wrong ones, had to order the right ones that weren't available and ended up ordering more expensive ones that were readily available. Piece this together and no wonder they were trying to push for extra repairs, as they probably didn't break even with my job. Not my fault, and still had to go through these unprofessional tactics. And from other reviews here, it's an ongoing practice. Drove to the MOT centre, and without surprise the car passed with zero advisories. What Alan told me most likely was made up to scare me into paying for totally unnecessary repairs. He said he had the car on the rollers, and if that had been the case, it would have recorded different percentages, it's true, BUT he would have also seen that it would pass the handbrake test and the MOT.  Either way, it doesn't really shine a good light on him and this garage to omit that bit, IF the car was even on the rollers. This experience was the equivalent of coming in with a burnt bulb and being told that I needed a whole new headlight assembly. Ridiculous. Edit: They installed a cable that it's not a match for this car on the passenger side, doesn't have the rubber flex bit in the end and corrosion is already doing a number on it.

Definitely the best garage I know off having used them for quite a while. No job is to big or small for the team at Light Oaks, Recently I have had a serious problem with the rear suspension resolved , a job other garages had turned down due to lack of expertise and knowledge and a PCV engine fault remedied, both repairs were carried out in a very professional manner and at very reasonable costs. I can thoroughly recommend Light Oaks Garage for all your motoring needs.

Not a great experience: repeatedly told me he would 'phone me back' - told my car was safe to drive and it must not be urgent, only for my car to break down. Imagine if that had been on the motorway? I waited three weeks for the part to be ordered in for my clutch but each time I was met with - I will phone you back when it comes in and it takes a long time, we just don't know how long etc. I went and get the part the same day, took it another garage, and fitted the same day. Ended up costing me time, a breakdown that could have been dangerous and quite honestly the worse service you would want from a garage. Receptionist was nice, only redeeming quality. Avoid.

I have my MOT done here every year, and the repairs that usually follow. They have never let me down. Service is always quick, friendly and courteous and doesn't cost an arm.
