Way better than over the road and it amazes me how many people still good over there to this restaurant for their meals. I’m not disappointed ever if I was I would go father afield in order to get a Chinese done the way this place prepares food. I would recommend the people who use the chip shop opposite the try new world out at least once. Don’t take my word for it

Very disappointing with the meal. Asked for Singapore chow mein and spare ribs. They were both cold. No taste to it all all. Was expecting rice noodle for the Singapore chow mein but was just normal thick udon noodles. Won’t be going back again. Really bad Chinese meal. Just wasted £15.

Decent Chinese takeaway. Vegetarian Hot & Sour soup was far too sweet. Mains (Prawn Chow Mein and Tofu with Ginger & Spring Onion) were decent portion sizes and tasted ok. Chips, greasy and a bit anaemic. Standard chinese that does what it says on the tin. Mainly posted review to add menu photos as couldnt find it online.

Foul. Chicken in pineapple had tasty pineapple pieces but the sauce tasted like chalk. Crispy salt and pepper chicken had very little meat. Chips were undercooked. Boiled rice tasted sour. Couldn't see a hygiene rating sticker anywhere. Not sure when the customer area was last cleaned but those cobwebs have been there quite a while.

The best in town for this cuisine. The quality and portions have remained the same for well over a decade. I have moved away but still travel to this place to collect as they do not deliver, but it's worth it. Lovely family run business and they deserve to be popular.

I very rarely leave reviews but my husband has just been to New World for S&S chicken, boiled rice and salt & pepper chips. He had to wait almost an hour for our food. When we opened the containers the S&S chicken was in barely any S&S sauce and I've never seen S&P chips like them. No pepper, no 'bits', no saltiness but about a third of the container was semi raw onion pieces with a bit of chopped green pepper and a few chopped red chillies. I work hard for my money and I'm cross that I wasted some of it on the above mentioned meal. I appreciate people have left fantastic reviews for New Wave but we won't be trying them again.

This has been our favourite for years, quality , taste , portion size and price. we have used this place a lot and especially if someone comes to visit. We have occasionally tried others when they are shut and always been slightly disappointed. You can stand at the counter and see into the kitchen and watch them prepare the food. recommend the hot and sour or wonton noodle soup. chop suey rolls, BBQ ribs, Salt and Pepper Chicken. special chow mien or Chop suey . or special fried rice. Rice with all the other dishes are big portions so I suggest you upgrade some meals to come with fried rice or noodles instead. I like their spicier meals as well, shredded beef and so on. The kids really like the sweet and sour pork. So looking forward to when they reopen.

salt n pepper fish came in chunks, which wasn't in description, nicely cooked. However, Char Sui curry tasted like aerosol or fly spray, burnt throat... curry had curdled, and prawn Crackers seemed stale. great service, lovely women just all in all food wasn't the best.
