Ordered a delivery despite reviews because only Chinese I could find open yesterday. Arrived promptly but spring rolls dripping oil and beef in black bean was chewiest I’ve had. Other items ok but won’t be a returning customer.
How is this place even allowed to be open with a 0 food hygiene rating?!!! Avoid at all costs. Disgraceful.
AVOID ⛔️ Absolutely shocking experience with Oriental Chef Enfield Town. We called to place a large order, which was confirmed along with the price of £61. Straight after, the woman on the phone asked how we would like to pay and we said cash please. She then started pushing us to pay by bank transfer - which is completely unprofessional and suspicious for a takeaway. We said no, we’d prefer cash. She kept insisting, so we then offered to pay by card on delivery. She rudely refused and said we’d have to collect it ourselves. When we explained we couldn’t because we had children at home, she reluctantly agreed to cash and confirmed the full order again. We waited 45 minutes, no food. Called back and were told we “never ordered.” The man on the phone then said they don’t take cash “at this time” and actually called me “honey” — unbelievably rude, dismissive and unprofessional. So not only did they waste our time and leave our family waiting for food that never came, they also tried to pressure us into sending a bank transfer, which is incredibly dodgy. AVOID at all costs.
Do not order from this place. First of all when we called, they were extremely rude and wasn’t listening to us, we specifically said no pork in our food. Eventually we got our meals, we paid over £100 for food which they asked how we wanted to pay and when we said cash they insisted that we had to pay by bank transfer only no cash or card which was also weird. When we did get our food and we started eating we realised that they had infact put pork in our food. So that was red flag number 1. When we tried to complain they refused to even change it and tried charging us. To top it all off, me and my kids got food poisoning from this, and we had complained and they were rude and sarcastic to us and put the phone down on us. This place is disgusring and you should never order from here ever, it should be shut down.
I just called them to get price and place order, person on the phone cannot speak English properly and he was very rude. He just told me if I want food I need to go to his shop.
TERRIBLE!!! …awful food, thrown in the garbage rather than eat!!! …big mistake trying this place!!!!
You know it's bad when you'd rather throw away the food than eat it. Incredibly bland, no flavour and cheated with the portion sizes. Ordered half a duck and got probably a quarter serving with the rest of the container packed with soggy veg. Definitely in the top tier list of worst Chinese food ever. You're better off going hungry than wasting money ordering here.
Disgusting food, money in the dustbin, Pork Ribs with chilli & salt was rock hard, like chewing on wood. Pork ribs should be tender, soft & juicy. Why would anyone lose a customer & suffer more bad reviews for money.
Absolutely yummy food they have a nice range of vegetarian Chinese foods if you want they can customise your meal choice if you ask them too. I like how friendly takeaway is and I do enjoy the food. I highly recommend here for takeaways as it's always been freshly prepared infront of me as I can see the chefs cook the food and the kitchen is clean and I've never had any issues or problems food. I like to order my noodles in person rather than have them delivered but that's my choice. But the food is very tasty no where else does this kind of quality especially as the prices are very reasonable in Enfield!! I love the cute Lucky cat as you walk in I've named him "Smiley" :)
