Preen came highly recommend and I couldn't be happier with how my hair looks now. I had a great chat with the hairstylist during the patch test appointment to see how I see it and where would like to go with them and Debra was just amazing in delivering a high quality foil highlights transformation for my badly bleached scalp. Louise have been great in getting a perfect cut and curl during my previous appointment. So happy with the service and quality of it here.
I got engaged and wanted to get a manicure to show off the ring, I left with bloody cuticles the worst of which was on my ring finger, apart from the obvious pain I was just heartbroken this is how they looked at a really special occasion. The BIAB also looked really weird, I emailed to complain because I didn’t really realise how bad this was until other people had seen them and were visibly shocked (I’m also very socially anxious!!), I was told they would fix it (you can’t fix broken skin which was my main issue) and I could get 50% off another treatment but refused a refund. I won’t get any other treatment where this kind of thing can happen. I appreciate now that the nail tech was an apprentice but that should be made clear when booking (which is wasn’t). Disappointing doesn’t cover it.
I wanted to love this place as a few of my friends recommended the shop to me and it’s really local. I have tried twice now for builder gel and both times the appointment is very rushed. Minimal cuticle work which results in my nails looking very grown out after a week! Definitely wouldn’t return. Whenever I’ve had builder gel elsewhere the appointment has been 1.5 hours. I assume they have managed to almost half this time by cutting corners with prep work which is disappointing when they are charging the same rates as nail techs that are thorough. Haven’t tried other treatments here so can’t comment on those.
Louise is fab, always put my trust in her and come out with a great cut and style, great salon and Louise is brilliant! Best hairdresser I have ever had!
I have been coming to Preen since it opened and Becky has done my nails / brows etc for about 10 years. She's the absolute best! The salon is lovely and all the staff are lovely. I wouldn't go anywhere else for my nails or brows .
I had my nails done here on Christmas Eve and left the salon very unhappy with the service I had received. My nails were very bumpy, edges were sharp and rugged, polish had smudged on some nails and despite paying for 15 minutes of nail art - it definitely wasn't what was given. I wasn't going to write a review but I have since visited another salon because some of my nails were feeling very painful and kept breaking. My nails felt so fragile to the extent it hurt to put them in warm water or touch them. Since they were breaking and I had grown my nails out for a while, I didn't want this to happen so I decided to pay more money and visit a salon a friend recommended. The lady at the other salon agreed they were bad and on some nails they had been filed down so badly that it was close to the skin - which is why it was so painful! She said the edges had been roughly shaped which is why they were breaking and couldn't understand why theu were so bumpy. It was clear the person doing my nails didn't have enough experience due to the level of service I had received. I have been to the salon previously and was very happy with my nails which shows its very hit and miss depending on who you get doing your nails. I wouldn't recommend this salon for this reason and due to how painful and such bad quality my nails were after.
