Don't stay open when they are supposed to. My friends and I turned up this past Sunday before 7pm and the bar staff refused to serve us, claiming they were shut, even though their website clearly states that they are meant to be open until 8pm and people were still in there drinking at the time too! Barman refused to acknowledge that their website was wrong and just kept saying they were now closed. When my friend attempted to email them about our poor experience afterwards, his email was blocked. They claim that they did not block his email message, but he has the screenshot to prove it too. Not only is their treatment towards my friends and I totally unprofessional and unacceptable, but they are dishonest too. Their dishonesty is further proven by the fact that having said to my friend that the website information is incorrect on one of their responses, they are now saying in a more recent response, that it is clear online that last orders is at 6.30pm with a 7pm closing time. Also, the fact they cannot even spell my friend's name correctly in their responses, shows further disrespect towards us too. I will be avoiding this place when I next visit Chester out of principle. No apology from the staff at the time and no apology since. Shows a lack of customer service! As the screenshot provided shows, their website is still showing incorrect information!

Excellent Sunday lunch and vey good value in today's financial climate (2 dinners for Β£22). All was presented in a large Yorkshire pud with plenty of meat, veg and gravy. Staff are very plesent and helpful although we had wine there is a large selection of craft beer.

What a fantastic pub and restaurant that’s only a short walk from Chester train station. The service is incredibly welcoming and friendly and is matched by the brilliant beers on offer and excellent food. I ordered the The Dirty Deva burger, which was stunning and my wife loved her Thai BBQ fish cakes. There are screens all over the pub which has football and rugby on, but the volume is low so you can chat and enjoy the buzz of this wonderful pub.

This little place is amazing. Dog friendly with a selection of ales and unusual drinks that I'd never have tried back home. The food menu is phenomenal with many different options including gluten free, vegan and vegetarian. I had the philly cheese steak burger with chips and biscoff cheesecake with a scoop of maltesers ice cream and I honestly cannot explain how gorgeous everything was. The staff are friendly and happy to chat and have a laugh and my overall experience here has been wonderful. I will definitely be recommending the deva tap to my friends if they're considering a trip out to Chester.
