Most of the menu items are Good some not, very pricey. I been trying to full menu in years and I can say is very good, for every taste Hard to understand the younger boy. Fast for takeaway
My sister booked a table for a family event and was told they couldn’t seat us at 7:30 pm and if we could book for 8pm instead. We got there at 8pm and the place was empty. It was poorly lit, cold and the staff were rarely seen. The menus were dirty, and on the rare occasion when staff did make an appearance we were told that all prices were £1.50 more than what it says on the menu. Also there are no drinks on the menu and we were told to bring our own. The cutlery, which was very slowly handed out over a 10 minute period, was not clean. We were there for 30 minutes and no one bothered asking if we were ready to order. We left without ordering.
Just spent nearly £30 in there and I can categorically say I've been robbed. Definitely one of the worst takeaways I've had. Had em from here before and they've been OK but this was truly atrocious put me off going back only ate half the other half went straight in the bin. Maybe have a word with the chef the food was bland tasteless and sweet and sour was dreadful. Avoid until they rethink chef situation
BEST AUTHENTIC CHINESE FOOD IN GRAYS!!! Since we found out about China Phoenix, we cannot order anywhere else. First of all, we wanted to try them because of their beef Ho Fun which nowhere else sell it and it is amazing. You can tell they make their food with love and dedication as it is always fresh, flavourful, hot and very packed. The boy on the phone is always very polite, helpful and friendly. No other Chinese food delivery tastes like this. Super recommended and our go to are the beef ho fun, nasi goreng, Hong Kong style sweet and sour chicken, sesame prawn toast, beef in black bean sauce and special chow mein. Defoo worth a try!!
We went to china pheonix for a meal and was disappointed. We were the only people in there although it was early , it was also very cold an unwelcoming, no tables were laid even though I had made a booking. The young waiter gave us a menu and took our order without saying a word. The food came up separately and was cold the starters came up last , we were asked to pay even though we hadn’t finished our drinks. Finally I went to the ladies room only to find it very dirty, toilet and basin needed a good bleach and lots of things stored there , no hand towel or dryer , will not be eating there again or recommending it to anyone.
Very disappointed realy not sure how this place is open the chief is cooking in baseball and puffa jacket! The adults in the kitchen left the poor girl to serve 10 people on her own there is still a christmas tree in window.the toilets are filthy and not fit for customer use looks like sink hasn't been cleaned and scrubbed same as bathroom for years I wouldn't allow my dog to eat there!
I ordered duck fried rice with gravy got the wrong when I called to complain I was told I have to come down to pick up another one after paying extra 2 pounds for delivery
Over the years, many Chinese takeaways change their ingredients. This restaurant however, has never changed their authentic brilliancy, with regards to the quality of Chinese food they have to offer. I highly recommened China Phoenix as the first in choice, if you live locally to the area.
Always very fresh and delicious Chinese food. Very reasonable price and you bring your own alcohol with you, which makes it additionally attractive. Unfortunately, the deco is dated and old fashion. If some effort is made to modernise the site, business should be booming. Worth a visit. The owner will hire the restaurant out over the night for parties!!
Good, hot, freshly prepared Chinese takeaway food with a byob dine-in option. We've been going to this place for nearly ten years. It's changed hands a few times and we went off it for a year a couple of years ago due to suspected food poisoning but the new owners have brought it back to a good standard. The food is always hot, fresh, and tasty. There is a good menu. Sizzling dishes. They also do three kinds of dim sum. It's clean and basic. Basically they set up a take out but had enough room for some tables in the front. Best part is that you can bring your own booze and there's no corkage. Makes it a really reasonable meal out if you just want something casual on a Friday night but want to get out of the house. They do take out as well of course but we find it more fun to dine in their clean small front of house. Friendly owner who runs the place with his family. You always get free prawn crackers to start and a fortune cookie with the bill. Never had a bad one yet. Closed on Monday. Parking near by can be challenging.
