Excellent salon. Very reasonable prices and Irene does exactly what I want. Very clean and a nice experience. Have recommended to others. My only regret is not discovering this salon years ago.
This is one of the most abhorrent hairdressers I’ve ever attended in my life. My little sister and mother recently booked in for a haircut with this hairdresser, and unfortunately, they were treated like nothing but dirt from the moment they walked in. My sister rang in asking for a walk-in appointment; the receptionist asked her how far she lived, and if she was local; this is where my sister stated very clearly she lives 15-20 minutes away, to which the receptionist had responded “that’s fine.” My sister and mum arrived 15 minutes later where they were approached by a lady with short white hair and glasses saying they’d just rang in for a hair cut; they were met with complete attitude where they lady refused to cut their hair since she had a client coming in for a colour - she failed to mention any of this on the phone prior to them coming in. Her tone was completely unprofessional, gave us nothing but a half-assed apology; even with that, we still said we’d book in with them again for another day, she practically disregarded us with no acknowledgement. This isn’t the first time I’ve had a rude experience with this lady. The first time I had had my hair cut by this woman, I was genuinely worried about voicing my opinion on my OWN HAIR. She was so arrogant and aggressive in the way she spoke, it felt like I was being interrogated rather than going for a self-care experience. If I could give zero stars, I would - DO NOT RECOMMEND. PLEASE CHECK THE OTHER REVIEWS, IT IS QUITE EVIDENT THAT SHE IS THE PROBLEM!!!! Excusing this behaviour by pressure in the work place is not a valid excuse, do not work in an environment where customer service is crucial if you cannot give that out!!!
I have had my hair done at this salon for several years now. Both hairdressers are lovely, personable and doing a great job. My hair has improved a lot too since I am coming to Neil & Co.
A friend recommended this place to my mother. Me and my mum went to the salon, we didn’t have to wait long. I had my hair done first by this older women (white curly hair). When she washed my hair it felt very rushed and not relaxing, the whole process of cutting my hair felt rushed as well, she did a great job at blow drying my hair and styling it and i was pleased with the end product. When it came to my mum, she wanted her hair quite short as she’d been having problems with her scalp, she couldn’t dye it anymore, had special shampoo she had to use and wanted to let it grow out grey. The shampoo they used didn’t irritate her scalp which was good. The two hairstylists there were very judgemental of the haircut she wanted to have, constantly not recommending her to have it and made the both of us feel quite uncomfortable. My mum had the same lady as i did and didn’t quite do the hairstyle my mum asked for and also rushed as well but the end product was okay.The hairdressers were nice to regular customers, but we’d never been there before. I personally wouldn’t go back, but i’d recommend this if you only want a wash and blow dry.
A totally pleasant experience! Debbie and I were meeting for the first time and she ‘got’ my hair just right. I shall return.
This review is quite hard for me to write. I used this place for years, and had some positive experiences when I first started going. The issue is I am busy and finding time to come and get my hair done is hard. What I found was, over time as they learned I didn't have my hair done as often as I should, I started having a negative experience there. One lady in particular was very negative about my hair, very patronising towards me as a person and I just felt awful when I left. It got gradually worse, and I have now switched somewhere else and I am feeling much more positive. I want to be fair here- most of the time I was really happy with how my hair looked, and I can imagine that their regulars really love this place. I just think that they should be more understanding of people like me who are not able to come often and not look down on us for it. Worth a try if you are going to go here very regularly, they'll be lovely to you. Just avoid if you are the kind of person who leaves too long between cuts.
Although I arrived early for my appointment I hardly had to wait at all. Hair cut was swift and really good. I mentioned I would need a colour soon so a patch test was done to avoid wasting time at the next appointment. Not in the slightest bit pricey either
Love having my hair done here. The ladies are lovely, and they get my hair perfect everytime. And the hot drink is always a bonus. Definitely recommend them and will always go back there.
