   I do travel over 10 miles to visit Jon. I have been going there to get my hair cut for 15 years now. I discovered him by accident as from the outside the shop looks run down. The row of buildings it is in is not long for this world. Ignore the look of the place however, as inside is Jon. Jon is a treasure. His skill and experience is matchless. If he was in a swanky salon in Manchester this cut would be 50 quid. He takes the trouble to do the cut properly. He understands what would suit you and yet listens to you. He has taught hairdressing to others in the past and in his semi retirement he now cuts hair to an extra ordinary standard. I am so glad I discovered him.

   John is an old school gentleman. He's a proper men's barber, with an illustrious history. In the 60s, 70s and 80s, he did demonstration hairdressing shows on stage across the North of England, on stage at Blackpool, Morecambe and city venues across Manchester and Preston etc., teaching lesser hairdressers how it should be done. The man is a legend. His photos around the shop are a star list of his celebrity customers. He's semi-retired now and still going strong. A very famous man in his day, and still a very skilled hairdresser in his senior years. He's one of the last of a breed. Still does my hair perfect, i'm a professional law enforcement officer so need a professional cut. Open razor on neck and sides, at once perfectly blended with electric clipper and scissor cut to the top, and eyebrows tamed. You should be driving 40 miles to get a haircut from John. You won't find better.
