Stopped in for a late-ish Saturday dinner — I didn’t have a reservation, but I was dining alone, so they were able to find me a cosy spot at the end of the bar. (Was occasionally a tad difficult to flag down a server, but I enjoyed watching the cooks prepare dishes in front of me.) I ordered the (classic) tonkotsu ramen, which was really good. The noodles were authentically chewy, and the broth was very rich and savoury without being too heavy or oily. The sliced chashu was tender and juicy. Portion size was healthy and I think reasonable for the price point. I would be keen to come back to try some of their other dishes (the katsu curry looked very tasty). Would definitely recommend!

Tonkotsu Shoreditch is a truly vibrant and welcoming spot that delivers on its promise of outstanding, authentic ramen. The kitchen excels in crafting deep, flavorful broths—the classic Tonkotsu Ramen, with its rich, porky base and perfectly cooked, thin noodles, is a must-try. Beyond the exceptional food, however, what truly elevates the experience here is the service. The entire team is attentive and friendly especially Sammy, creating a warm, cozy atmosphere that makes you feel instantly at home. This outstanding level of hospitality is clearly set by the leadership, and the manager, Gifty, is nothing short of amazing. Her attentiveness, warm demeanor, and genuine willingness to ensure every guest is well cared for are often highlighted in customer feedback, making a meal here not just delicious, but genuinely delightful. If you're looking for fantastic ramen served with the best service in Shoreditch, this is the place to go.

Had a great meal here with colleagues on a Thursday night. We had chicken wings and prawn katsu for starters and then most people had ramen and I had more starters with bang bang style cauliflower. Service was excellent. We were served by Maryan who was friendly and helpful throughout and served with a smile which was nice. The food came out relatively quick (but it was passed the evening rush) and the food was both tasty and hot. I’d say pretty standard in terms of its flavouring which is why I gave it an overall four stars. It just wasn’t fine dining but it was very good. Portions were hearty but everyone finished theirs. Shows they are thinking about things like that. The place has great decor. We were in a booth. Was comfy. I would definitely go again. Service was strong and the food was decent.

We made an impromptu decision to go to Tonkotsu in Shoreditch and what an unexpected delight! Mary-Ann was our waitress and reminded just what excellent service looks like. Great personality, great recommendations and made the whole experience one to remember. I came in feeling neutral and I’m definitely leaving with a smile due to the food but most importantly the exceptional service. Definitely worth a visit!

Overall, bit disappointed as the reviews were fairly positive. Service was the main letdown, food was OK. Decor is very nice. Overall there is better Ramen elsewhere. We arrived and we are one of 3 tables that night. When we sat down we were informed that the table service system was down but no paper menus were handed out, so we had to read off the app. Food took ages to come out despite the restaurant being empty and was served at wildly different times. We are talking a good 20 mins between dishes so that half the table had finished their mains, whilst the other half were still waiting for food to arrive. Ramen is supposed to be a quick dish, I wonder how they cope if it's actually busy. Service was lacking a bit, e.g. someone ordered a pint to go with their meal and had finished their main by the time it was served, despite nothing else in the restaurant going on. When the food did arrive I will say that the fried dishes (katsu, tempura) were decent. The vegetarian ramen was apparently very good. Spicy ramen (geki kara) was not spicy and quite bland, more warming than spicy. Standard tonkotsu was the most flavourful, but not great by ramen standards. Restaurant design is really modern, bright and atmospheric, but overall I would not likely return.

Had lovely time visiting and eating a delicious meal. We were looked after very well by all the staff. Everyone was very nice. The place was very clean and the chefs were also very lovely to say hello. Myself and 2 girl friends had such a lovely time. The ramen we each had was a big meal worth the money and very, very filling. Thank you again, and we look forward to seeing you all again.

The food was really bad !! I hate being this type of person but i can not say anything positive about this place. I hope it was just a one time thing. The dumplings were oily, ramen was tasteless, service was very poor and slow. I will never recommend or go again there!

Really disappointing! A bowl of noodles covered in tastless water. Really not a ramen, maybe okay for a noodle soup. The cauliflower in the beginning was really good!! The service was good. They are really watchful. But because of the food not recommended.

I used to live in Japan so I might be harsh but this ramen is bad. It wasn’t awful but the soup is quite tasteless and the noodles themselves were mediocre. Having read all the good reviews, I was really disappointed and despite I was really hungry I had to leave some ramen in the plate because of how bland it was.
