Sunday 2 November had a wonderful Sunday lunch. Sticky sausages to start were lovely, I had the roast beef which was delicious and my wife had the pork which was tasty. Also a side order of cauliflower cheese which was lovely. High recommend brilliant value , great staff and delicious food.

We have been to the The Ship Inn twice as the food was great and the staff were helpful and welcoming. The first time we ordered the small fish n chips and grilled vegetables tagine. The second time we ordered the fried chicken with sriracha mayo and chicken katsu with curry. Delicious! The location is quite convenient not too far from where we were staying while visiting Chester. We will come back again before we leave for Thailand. Update: For our third and last visit before leaving Chester, we ordered the sirloin steak and a pepperoni pizza. The food was well prepared and delicious.

We came on a Sunday and had the garlic mushrooms starter, sirloin steak and Sunday roast (pork loin). The food was faultless, staff were friendly and the food arrived quickly. Some of the best service I’ve had in a long time! Would 100% recommend for anyone wanting good quality pub food. Thanks so much :)

I received a warm welcome as I popped in to the ship inn today. A very kind gentleman closely resembling Harry Hill even showed me to a fabulous upstairs seating area. This was perfect for a warm summers day as the breeze through the bifolds was most welcome. The food came promptly and was home cooked. On Mondays it’s even half price! A surprise find as I don’t often cross over the river. The Ship Inn is situated on the river Dee bridge. On this occasion I was walking but suspect there’s a small car park opposite. The ground floor is accessible and has a loo situated here for those with mobility or creaky knees you should be fine. Nice beer lovely food and very welcoming staff I highly recommend and won’t leave it so long to cross the river next time!

We had a lovely lunch in the Ship a few weeks back off the recommendation by a friend for the Garlic Bread. We ordered a few nibbles to share and mains and all the food was of excellent quality and the bread lived up to its reputation. It has a nice cozy ambiance and the staff were both polite and attentive despite it being a bit livelier for ladies day. Would happily visit again.

Having read some wonderful reviews about the Ship Inn we detoured our journey in the hope of getting a Sunday dinner. Parking is hard to find and it's on a main road but it appeared to be very popular. We ordered the roast beef dinner and it arrived quite quickly just as the table near us were ordering their food, during their order they were asked if they wanted Cauliflower Cheese with their roasts? I point that question out as it was not an offer bestowed upon us, which I was taken aback by. When the food arrived it looked amazing - mouth watering even - unfortunately this was short lived as when we started to Tuck into our food, we discovered the potatoes were watery and the meat was fatty and tough, in total it was not what we expected, neither of us ate the meat and I also left the potatoes. We paid the bill and left very disappointed.

The girls took me there for my birthday a few days ago and we really had an amazing Sunday roast with celebrations and a view to die for!!! Surrounded by the park and overlooking the river, the vibe was so serene and quite a scenic place to spend my thirtieth birthday at. The hosts were extremely nice and accommodating. The food was great and the portions were extremely generous. Would love to go again one day for the scenery and food both!

Superb! Clean, modern cafe bar/pub. Only stopped for coffee on this occasion but sells real ale and other alcoholic drinks. Food served from 12pm. Looking forward to my next visit to sample the beer.

Really nice place, we are far from local but booked this in advance as we were staying in Chester. Its dog friendly, has a lovely atmosphere, very knowledgeable staff and most importantly very nice food. 6 of us all ordered different meals and they were all very good, i had a 10oz rump which ended up being way better than I expected, would highly recommend. The Steak and ale pie was stated to be the best pie she had ever had, its a proper pie not one of these casserole dish with a puff top, so to marks on the proper pie. The only negative thing we could say was the chunky chips were a little undercooked, still abit powdery and missing a slight crunch. But we could have just got a badly timed batch. Many thanks and we will certainly return.
