I’ve been to Tips and Toes before and had okay experiences, but my most recent visit was extremely disappointing. From the moment I sat in the chair, I felt rushed. There was no care or attention to detail, and my nails were done in such a hurry that the result was far from what I asked for. I showed reference photos multiple times and clearly asked for short, thin French tips. Instead, I got thick, uneven French tips with poor shaping. Some of the nails aren’t even straight. The technician was rough and heavy-handed — my nails actually hurt afterward. It felt like he had no regard for my comfort or satisfaction. When I eventually gave up and asked to just have them painted in a simple milky white (since the French tips were clearly not working), I was told it was “too late” and that I should’ve asked earlier — despite showing the pictures from the start. He ended up doing it anyway, but the result was still disappointing. I paid full price for a rushed, careless service and left feeling upset and unheard. I might return to the salon because of past experiences, but I will absolutely not be getting my nails done by him again. Poor service and zero compassion for clients. There were flies everywhere, which made the whole experience even more off-putting. I paid for rushed, painful and low-quality work. My skin has been cut during cuticle removal.
I have just moved back from London to Manchester and have been looking for a new nail salon to go to in Salford. I finally found this one and I liked it. I got my nails done and a week later, 2 nails broke so I had to go and fix it. (This is not the first time I have had to go back to fix my nails because it broke shortly after my appointment) I got there and as they started fixing my nails, there was another girl sat next to me also fixing 2 nails. When she was done, she asked how much it was and the nail lady said “it’s okay you don’t have to pay” and the girl left. When I was done with mine, the nails lady got up and didn’t say anything about paying. Which I thought made sense since my nails broke in less than 2 weeks. As I was leaving, another guy which I now know is the owner’s husband asked me if I was going to pay. I had to ask him several times what he said because his English was so bad.. I thought he was joking at first because they fixed 2 nails that should not have broke so soon. I said I came to fix my nails that broke a week ago. He said “no it was 2 weeks ago !” Mind you, he wasn’t there when I got my nails done a week ago. I then said that to him. He then started shouting very rudely that “this is not a charity , you have to pay!!” I was absolutely shocked. I said to him, that’s fine but you don’t need to be rude. He got up and shouted in my face to the point I could smell him stinking breath “if you think I’m rude then don’t come back here again !!” Wow, I was shocked !!! So unprofessional and so disgustingly rude. I then got another member of staff who was there to explain my confusion. He apologised and looked so embarrassed. When I asked how much the nails cost, he said £5!!!!! I got spoken to in such a disgusting manner over £5!!!! I decided to pay the £5 just to prove that I had no problem paying. (Which I now regret) This situation has completely ruined my experience at this place!!! DO NOT TO GO HERE IF YOU WORK HARD FOR YOUR MONEY!!! You will regret spending your money here!!!! I find some of the other members of staff rude too. When I ask for what I want on my nails, they immediately start talking in their own language and you can tell they are talking about the customer. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. RUDE WORKERS !!!!
Nail technicians with rude behavior, that don’t care about your nails much and your wishes, their focus is rather set to accommodate as much customers as possible, far away from providing the quality service. I am willing to pay more to get my nails done properly with a professional service. I found another salon in the same area so much better (a total opposite), surprisingly even in the same price range. Have no reason to return.
I saw Andy for a gel French manicure (and removal of previous gel polish). He was great! Really kind and friendly and very fast and efficient. Very attentive to detail. I was in and out in under an hour. Absolutely love my nails! Highly recommend him and Tips and Toes
Went here for a set of acrylics, two of my nails were completely split in half from her filing them down too much and now I have actually almost lost a nail. Went back in to get them fixed and they completely refused to accept responsibility. AVOID.
Absolutely no care is taken in their pedicures. The tools used can only be described as kitchen utensils, not what you expect to see when you’re having a pedicure! I have cuts all over my toes, was quite clearly bleeding during the treatment and wasn’t offered even a discount for the pain suffered. Such a shame as this salon is so convenient for me location wise, but I won’t be returning.
My favourite nail shop - kind of annoying that you always have to queue but supply and demand! Always busy but worth the wait.
