This is the place to go if you are a serious gardener or/and have an allotment. The value is exceptional especially if you are purchasing in bulk. The variety of ferilizers and composts is excellent along with all your gardening needs. Seed potatoes and onion sets are of a very high quality. The staff are very friendly and helpful
I have known about this treasure trove since I met my wife in 1999. We live near Corby so it’s wonderful to have such a helpful local DIY store that are able to help my disabled but independent mother in law. She recently needed a little screw repairing on her ring door bell and knew exactly where to go for help. “Mars” as they are known locally visited her but told her how much they would charge which was minimal before they visited. She is now safe and secure with her repaired and fully charged “Ring” doorbell. The shop is like the Doctors Tardis which seems massive inside despite being a small corner shop. If you can’t find an item in this store we’ll it probably hasn’t been invented yet. Thanks guys you are diamond geezers.
I have just used this company for the first time for a large delivery of garden manure and compost and the service and value are absolutely excellent and I cannot recommend highly enough. I will definitely be using again. Update - Four years on and I am still using John Maher every year for their excellent service and prices and now my friend has started using them too.
I ordered very late on Tuesday evening and to my surprise my items turned up Thursday afternoon! Staff were so kind and helped bring my (very heavy) delivery up to my apartment. Ordered a particular shower on a Friday which was recommended by Mahers and was due to turn up for Tuesday. I rang on Tuesday and was told they wasn't getting any due to no stock! Our builder has now had to leave for a week and a half which will cost us no end on time and money as well as a building site of a bathroom! The gentleman's 'don't give a stuff attitude' on the telephone was pretty disgusting!! Spent hundreds of pounds in this shop over the years but never again!!!!
