Family run corner shop, whom have been here for over 20 years. Have most things in stock, beer, cigs, crisps, chocolate, soft drinks, pet food, baby food, nappies, greeting cards, playing cards, tinned food, sewing thread, blue tac, combs, gloves, you name it! Accepts card payments.

Friendly owners and staff. This is a small family ran establishment on Elgin Street. A & K has been here for years. The staff are always happy to help although you may experience miscommunication on occasion. The off licence is well stocked and offers competitive prices compared to other off licences in the Halliwell area. This off licence is good for all sorts of food, snacks and or drinks depending on what you're after. They keep the off licence very clean and do a great job on making sure everything is in the right spot regarding products. Dogs aren't allowed in the store. Wheelchair access might be a difficulty due to one step that leads to the entrance so it might be difficult to haul yourself up. The store is conveniently located for locals as it is on the main road (Elgin Street) The closing are okay, the off licence closes around 10pm It is also a great place to advertise locally as you can put something up on the door window for people to see Examples: "lost dog please contact (phone number) for reward" "fridge for sale £326" It is a great place to shop locally if you are in a pinch but A & K have new competition due to a new shop at the bottom of Elgin Street which may seem more appealing than A & K. Summary: Nice off licence Friendly staff Family owned Miscommunication on occasion Clean and tidy I would recommend shopping here if you are in a rush and or strapped for time.
