I had a terrible experience with Howdens after buying my kitchen in February. The designer, Patrick, measured my space incorrectly twice and ordered a 500mm cabinet and drawer instead of the 300mm size. I had to return the wrong items and buy the correct ones, yet I was charged nearly £300 extra for something that should have cost less as i was exchanging gor a smaller size. I was even told a refund had been issued, but nothing ever appeared. The final design delivered didn’t match the one I approved at payment, and when I raised this, I was made to feel at fault and told I’d need to pay again to fix their mistake. I was promised a refund that I didnt receive. I was originally assured that any issues would be easily resolved, but once I paid, the customer service completely changed. I received contradictory information, no accountability, and was left out of pocket. I chose Howdens over a cheaper DIY Kitchens quote expecting a smoother process, but the experience has been incredibly disappointing.

The only reason im giving 4 stars is because I didn't get to go ahead with their kitchens, but that was the fault of the fitter, not them (independent fitter constantly let me down and never showed in the end). Found them very helpful and Molly was fabulous at designing the kitchen; so friendly and polite and her communication was excellent.

Howdens Canklo – Complete Waste of Time Ignored enquiry: Sent request 8th August – no reply. Had to chase 28th August. Ridiculous pricing: Quote finally came back 2.5× higher than competitors. Unrealistic, uncompetitive and insulting to trade customers. Mixed messages: Another branch kept calling all month promising “deals,” yet Canklo quoted sky-high with no meaningful discounts applied. Team attitude: Very lax, “take it or leave it” mentality. Comes across like the team simply don’t care. Pointless process: Insisted we visit the showroom again despite us having done so many times before. Just more wasted time. Overall experience: Extremely poor communication, unrealistic pricing, and a dismissive approach. This branch is a complete waste of time — avoid.

Worst place to get a kitchen from. Never again. Designer came to house thinking he would know what he is doing. Could have designed a kitchen better he wasted so much space. Absolutely terrible customer service. Accused us of lying about the 4 doors missing. Over phone wouldn’t believe us. Apparently they managed to do a stock check of warehouse whilst on phone with me. How that is possible im not sure. The countertop was short when the driver dropped it off i said that doesn’t look like it will be enough he reassured me that its fine. My first kitchen fitter refused to touch the counter tops as he said theres not enough then i got a 2nd fitter who said same thing. So when i went to the shop and complained they wouldn’t believe that either until they calculated it. They after realising it was their fault they did deliver another counter top and give me the doors after so much arguing with them. Highly unprofessional avoid. When delivery came for missing doors realised theres no hinges either. The cheek on the team all very rude and abrupt. Think they can take advantage. I needed 2 kitchens but luckily only bought 1 from them will be going elsewhere for 2nd one.

Receive a phone call telling me I’ve got a free toolbox waiting for me at their store, turned up to place an order for skirting boards and they said my accounts inexplicably closed and I can’t have my tool box! Waste of space so buying my skirting from elsewhere.

We bought our kitchen units,appliances,etc from Howdens at canklowin 2017. The service was brilliant. Amanda,did our survey and all the design on the cad cam.Amazing, you can see what your new kitchen will look like on the huge TV monitor. You have to get your own kitchen fitters,although I've no doubt Howdens would help with that advice. There's nothing that's too much trouble for them, brilliant service. Even today 5years on, if you need anything,they will get it for you...... The catalogue for Howdens covers everything you will require,for a kitchen, appliances,units, flooring, doors too much to mention. Get a catalogue,have a look, you will be hooked. The quality of the units,in fact everything is excellent.I have already recommended Howdens several times, and will do again today... Go ,get a catalogue,enjoy....

Many years ago when I was developing I used Howdens for all my joinery needs Kitchens/ doors/ skirting etc and they were great. However I’ve just tried to buy an item that they told me was in stock but wouldn’t sell it to me unless I reopened my account……. I’m semi-retired now and just don’t need an account, I also don’t like been told what to do and been held to ransome. They wouldn’t even tell me the price of the item LOL!!! I’ve placed an order with another national hardware store and should have my item tomorrow…… they at least took my order without any fuss! It seems Howdens have lost there way a little…… shame really…… I used to spend a LOT of money with them. I won’t be going back after today!!!!
