Brilliant visit to Quarry Bank! The scenery and site itself are beautiful, with so much great information to learn. The staff are great and are happy to show how each machine in the factory works and the gardens and outdoor walks were beautiful. Definitely will be back! We did the tour of the apprentice houses on Sunday 23rd and the lady was wonderful and very informative.

A fabulous day out. Beautiful countryside, informative and helpful staff. A place steeped in history yet still alive with people actually living there side by side with the show cottage and a real working primary school! I even saw some highland coos, great for a homesick Scot!

Great NT place, visited lots of times but this time, as well as using the very good cafe, we walked through the estate onto the path by the runway. Saw lots of planes taking off and landing. The grandchildren loved it!! Family membership well worth it!

A Wonderful Accessible Walk for All Abilities - We had a lovely morning walk at Quarry Bank with my special needs daughter, who has limited mobility. The experience was fantastic—peaceful, well-organized, and very accessible. Parking was free and convenient, and we appreciated that entry to the outdoor walking paths was also free (only the gardens and certain facilities require a ticket was explained to us by the staff). The trails were well-signposted and easy to navigate with the provided map, making it stress-free for us to explore. The paths were well-maintained, smooth, and manageable for my daughter’s mobility needs. It’s rare to find such a beautiful, natural space that caters so thoughtfully to visitors of all abilities. I highly recommend to families with children and anyone with limited mobility. It’s a welcoming, serene place to enjoy nature without any hassle. We’ll definitely be back!

Great full day out. Really interesting guided tour of the apprentice house. Lovely gardens and glasshouses. Very informative guides in the mill. Huge waterwheel. Pretty woodland walks and a great unspoilt village. Nice community cafe in the village.

A wonderful combination of manufacturing and social history with attractive gardens in a lovely location. The guides were very good - especially the demonstration of spinning and weaving cotton by hand, and the tour of the apprentice house. Practically speaking there are two good cafes and two shops, and transport for the mobility impaired. It's £19 for a normal adult ticket, which may put people off - but if this is your kind of place you can spend the whole day here.

Lots to see and do at Quarry Bank. Plenty of picnic benches for packed lunches, accessible toilet and baby change facilities were good. My 6 year old enjoyed completing the Easter egg hunt and I thought the gardens were magnificent. Good family day out.

Really nice walk around and very interesting history of the cotton mill. Great demos from the National Trust team of each weaving machine, from the humble spinning wheel to the massive and noisy machines powered by water and steam. Lovely gardens although I imagine even better in late spring and summer when more flowers are in bloom.

Loved it! Another gorgeous National Trust Park. Lots of space for parking availability and the most warmest welcome from informative and friendly staff working at Quarry Bank. It was my first time visiting Quarry Bank and it was a lovely experience. We got tickets for the mill which was scheduled and run by a guide which is also lovely and informative. We got to see all the machines turn on and saw how the business expanded and just how young workers were able to work in the mill when it first opened. A fabulous experience and lots of history to learn. This place is brilliant for family, I love that they have a pushchair storage room, always handy (especially when you have more than one child and a large buggy!) A beautiful bookshop and giftshop is available to go into. We also managed to go for a long walk in the beautiful gardens with lots of bridges and scenic routes. We had a fantastic time, I can't wait to visit again in the summer!
