referred here by my therapist because I needed help with a diagnostic assessment, I was told this place had the tools and resources to put me on a waiting list for an assessment. Had a meeting with one of the volunteer staff members and she tells me that’s something they can do and she will write me a referral for Living Well. I wait over a month for some sort of written confirmation just so I know on my end that it’s been done and I didn’t receive anything. I went in last week during my counselling appointment and was told “I’ll ask and get back to you”, no one ever got back to me. Then I went in for my second counselling session today and was told that the lady I spoke to said she had done everything she was suppose to do on her end and that she can’t make referrals like that. I don’t know why I’m being told two contradictory sentences and then finding out that a referral I was promised and reassured countless times would happen was in fact a lie. Why would they tell me they can do something and specifically tell me it’s called Living Well to then find out it’s something they don’t do. And the fact that for over a month no one had the decency to tell me this and I only found out after raising a complaint is ridiculous. The signed me up for counselling which was something I didn’t want. I’ve been having therapy and counselling for years and it isn’t helping because I need specialist therapy that a diagnosis would give me which is why I need the referral I was told I would get. Now I am stuck receiving sub par counselling from a trainee counsellor who is terrible at what she does. She constantly gets confused and forgets things I’ve said, 4 times has made promises to text me with my appointment times and information and never does, and her style of counselling is terrible. All she does is relay what I’ve said back to her to make me feel like I’m being listened to. This is basic level 2 training. I’m so annoyed that I’ve wasted all this time, promised proper support after years and years of trying to get help just to be fobbed off with a trainee counsellor that doesn’t know what she’s doing. My specific problems are OCD and C-PTSD from extensive childhood trauma. A trainee counsellor can not help with that and will run the risk of making things worse. They have a cafe but the cafe is useless if you have coeliacs disease. They have nothing safe to eat. Nor would I trust volunteer staff to understand the dangers of an autoimmune disease and the severity of cross contamination if they can’t handle as something as basic as giving people the correct information for mental health support. I also tried to attend a photography session here and whilst the person running it was nice some things he said to me left me feeling really upset and annoyed. When I attended and he was asking me questions about myself I explained I have autism and adhd and I’m just trying to find a place that I can feel community in as well as getting help for my other issues. Before I could finish he gave me a very weird lecture on the fact that I’m not allowed to say “I have adhd”. It made me feel uncomfortable and was completely inappropriate for him to say. Apparently his reasoning is it makes it sound like a disease and that saying “I have ADHD” is wrong. What am I suppose to say then ? It’s my health and my condition I can say what I want to say about what I struggle with. It was also inappropriate to say to someone who actually has a disease too, as if having a disease is something to be ashamed and disgusted of. All in all this place is useless. It’s only good for people who need friends and community and already have your stuff sorted out, but if you’re coming here to get mental health help all the stress of people not knowing what they’re doing and messing you about will make you worse. The fact that this place is designed to help people with autism and ADHD and depression etc and they are completely unorganised is an absolute joke. I’m never coming back. Thanks for wasting my time and making me worse off.

Visited a couple of times now for training courses. Always found the workers to be friendly and welcoming. I was surprised to see just how much they have available for the community and love how welcoming they are. Especially little Fudge running the welcoming committee.

Great place for communities to host events and conduct classes. Wish the toilets were well maintained!

Quite a few rooms of various sizes and tables and chairs available. The room charges are also reasonable. There is decent amount of parking. On weekends it can be quite busy. The only problem is that the local kids that create a lot of rukus most of the time as they try to come in and stay inside the toilet or go to one of the rooms. Big headache for people that have rented the place. Suggest the management to make additional security measures on this!!

Worst and unsafe place to be. Local kids and teenagers are very rude and makr tge community center very unsafe. They keep banging the door, abuse people, pose threat to kids, very unproffessional behaviour, etc. I even feel parking car there is not safe. Avoid this place by all means. There is no security people or care taker in the community hall and all these nonsense has to be handled by the people who hire. I really hate this place and everytime I go I get my BP high which eventually affect my health especially mental health.

Large rooms with power points. The furniture is of a good standard and the kitchen is a very good standard. The cafe area near the kitchen has lovely circular tables that we covered in pretty tablecloths with artificial flowers on each table, each table could easily sit six. There is a creche area for younger children, clean toilets near the entrance way. A security system to gain access to the building that requires a code, so you can keep your younger children safe from wondering outside unattended. And let only your party in when you have hire of the hall. Large car park as well
