   Lydia is very helpful! Been to the store twice for suits and Lydia is the perfect associate. Provides feedback and reccommendations while letting you shop at your own pace. She makes the experience very enjoyable and really exemplifies excellent customer service.

   Hobbs is positioned as an affordable luxury brand. So they have premium customer services to match, right? Wrong! They are difficult to contact (What’s App only) and slow to respond. And if you think that their online serviced use top notch couriers, think again. They use Evri. In my case, for a coat purchase, I went to their Kingston store, where the staff were extremely helpful. They did not have the coat in the right size in store, but advised that it was available elsewhere and would be delivered to my home. I paid for the coat, taking advantage of a 25% off sale price. A few days later, Evri advised that they had received the parcel from Hobbs but it was too big for their normal courier so a specialist courier would be employed. Then … nothing. Evri, advise that if a delivery issues has not been resolved within 7 days, that the customer should contact the outfit which sent the parcel. I do not know anyone who has managed to speak to someone at Evri customer service. So, a week after that I contacted Hobbs who confirmed that the coat had not been sent. They offered a refund, which was paid about 10 days later. I requested that we pick up an identical coat from another Hobbs store, which confirmed that it had it in stock. I requested that the original 25% discount – prevailing when the coat was bought – was honoured. The store said that they could do this so long as Customer Services said OK. Customer services disagreed and said that the store could not do this, and that we would have to order online in order to secure the 25% discount. Not being a fan of their online delivery (or absence of same) I again asked if I could pick it up from the store. Hobbs did not respond. I did not buy the coat. Whether by accident or design - Hobbs seems to makes matters difficult for customers who have issues with deliveries. Is it a deliberate strategy to advertise a coat with a 25% discount, which discount expires shortly thereafter, and then not deliver it and expect the customer to buy it at the full price? I don’t know. All of this has tainted my experience of Hobbs. I do not feel like a valued customer, and am looking elsewhere. At their prices, there are alternatives.

   I have shopped at Hobbs for many years online and in store. The Hobbs in Kingston Upon Thames has an excellent service. The staff are very knowledgeable about the clothing in store and online. I often buy online to collect and try in store and if I am unsure of my purchase I can expect an honest opinion from all staff on duty. I have just purchased a beautiful petite dress and was unsure of the length. The sales assistant advised on my options and even recommended a local seamstress should I decide on its alteration. I thoroughly recommend this store and its quality of clothing.

   What a fabulous store. Lydia was amazing. She offered an incredible personal shopping experience. Buying an outfit for step-daughters wedding. She had lots of suggestions and made a huge effort to create the perfect outfit, adding all the accessories and coming up with many fabulous options. Lydia may the whole experience relaxing and enjoyable - I would definitely recommend her, this branch of Hobbs and the personal styling experience. Using a family member's google account to write review as I don't have a google account.
