Generally, the staff in the cafe do not appear to be happy in their work. Service is inconsistent. Often orders are forgotten and arrive cold. Food quality is adequate for the price paid. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, although the wooden chairs are particularly heavy making them difficult to move around.

No receipts printed, kitchen “couldn’t find the things” for my order after I’d been sat waiting for my order 20 minutes, so I ordered something else. Another 20 minutes go by and the server came back with the same exact reason as to why I’d been sat waiting now 40 minutes for my order. To be fair to the server it very clearly wasn’t her fault that the kitchen wasn’t communicating with her and she was very apologetic. Rather than causing any more stress for the server, I just requested a refund for that meal and the 2 people with me could still have their food. After speaking with the kitchen staff, the server returned to apologise and let me know they couldn’t process the refund and that the customer service desk would have to. Unfortunately because no receipts were printing this wasn’t an option. So now no meal and no refund.

I never leave reviews however I'm completely disgusted at the state of the cafe. Dirty filthy trays, No mugs, Filthy tables and dont get me started on the staff, rude, dirty and miserable. I was with a lady I support the staff member wiped my side of the table, I had to ask her to wipe her side. Its awful Please sort it out !!!!!

We attended Morrison’s Cafe this AM - we went to the cafe with the intention of having breakfast and a drink, and then to do some shopping inside the store. We arrived at the Cafe and used the self-service machines - these were easy to use and we have used these before apart from this time there were no table numbers and another customer had to speak to staff to get some table numbers as these had not been collected and refilled by the machine which delayed the ordering process but this was not a problem to us. We sat down at a table after collecting and preparing our drinks - we ordered a hot drink however only one drinks machine was working and there was a queue to use this. However again, we did not mind and waited in the queue. I have visited this cafe before and have some concerns regarding the mugs / teapots - these are often stained or not properly cleaned (or restocked and the crates are often empty) and I have also once found a teabag that had been used and then washed left inside a teapot which shouldn’t be happening and should have been checked to ensure it was clean before placing it back on the shelf for customers to use these again. We waited approximately 45-50 minutes for our food - we ordered a breakfast, and a toastie which shouldn’t have taken this long and the store didn’t appear that busy. Staff appeared to be busy with the till often not manned, we observed two customers waiting around 5-10 minutes to be served at a till. While we were sat waiting for food, another table complained regarding their order; another customer complained regarding missing food from their order; I overheard another customer saying they were going to just leave due to the wait and heard another customer mention she could not locate a table as they were all dirty and not cleaned. The service has been poor today for many customers visiting this Cafe from my observation. A staff member came to our table after 40 minutes of waiting and advised us there were no tuna and cheese toasties which is what we ordered and offered to provide us with a plain cheese instead which I accepted. The breakfast was then served and there was a further wait for the toastie. The breakfast was lukewarm, did not come with any butter for the toast and the general standard and attention to detail has been abysmal. I observed staff not washing their hands, serving food and then clearing tables and serving at the tills in addition to restocking items (although slowly) and there was no handwashing seen. Staff were wearing hair nets which were great but aprons dirty. The tables are not clean and are sticky or dirty or covered with smear marks. The dishes rack for with dishes are full and overflowing. Chips were missed from my order (ordered as an additional to the toastie). These were not brought out to us but were paid for. I am hesitant to visit the cafe again after our experience. It sounds like we are not the only ones that have experienced this today. I have sent an email to Morrisons for a response.

Poor on cleanliness! Tables were not cleaned and most were still full of plates. No clean cups for coffee and after waiting 10 minutes, paper cups were brought out. Staff were slow, it was not busy but there was not urgency to clean or provided service. Some that were working were simply popping out of the kitchen and back in again Worst still, a manager came in to have his lunch, left his plates on the table and walked back out! No communication no, service, no cleanliness and no chance of me returning.

The one star rating is because when we went into the cafe I had to look at about 8 mugs before I found one that didn't have brown ring stains on them also the steel teapots were also brown inside and didn't look good or very hygienic

Appalling. Tables unclean, cutlery on the floor, had to search for a table with the least amount of ketchup staining or spilt tea. Staff's aprons looked filthy which which is a damning indictment of the place before you've even placed an order. I didnt order hot food but the chap opposite ordered sausage and mash and the sausages looked cremated. Latte and tea were OK but it's pretty hard to mess hot drinks up. I went in with my kids hoping to have a festive hot drink ie gingerbread latte but there was none on offer. When other supermarkets offer a festive hot drinks menu I'd expect Morrisons to do the same. Morrisons cafe was in stark contrast to Sainsburys in both Trinity Walk and Ings Road which are a class above. Disappointing.

Used to be a nice cheap breakfast but it has drastically gone down hill. Ultimate breakfast £7? Couldn’t swap any items for anything and don’t even get toast with it but you do on the other ones? Nearly £20 for 2 breakfasts which were below average. Wouldn’t be in a rush to come back.
