came on to find closing times and suprised at all the negative reviews - this is a lovely shop with gorgeous clothes and homeware and super helpful staff.
I purchased two pairs of trousers labelled as a size 12. Tried one pair on and it fit so did not think anything of buying the second pair of the same design in a different colour. Someone had put the wrong size label on and the second pair were in fact a size 10. Goodbye £185 - I had relocated soon after was unable to exchange. *edit. I have already had a back and forth about this issue with customer service and they said there was was nothing they could do, despite being able to verify the transaction.
Very lazy customer service. Why do you close at 6 given that most people in London work until then? Do you target unemployed people because your prices don't say that? On top of that at 5.30 the staff stops the music and the atmosphere turns almost hostile telling people they are about to close. And you expect me to pay GBP 200 for a cardigan and GBP 300 for trousers. Seriously? Stay open until 8 pm and change your customer service, your business will be doing much better.
I adore Toast clothes, who doesn't? But it is a constant struggle to find the right size - sizes are not consistent across the range. And since some clothes offered for sale online are not in stores, even more difficult to order. I recently ordered three items online, following the size guidelines carefully and had to pay for express delivery which was not delivered at the "guaranteed" time. Sadly only one out of three was the right size.
My mother in law and I came to this shop two days ago. The two ladies working there didn’t even say hello, they were chatting all the time we were there ignoring us, but one of them took the time to really look down at us. We felt so uncomfortable we never want to come back. It’s a shame, because I’ve purchased from this brand before, but if on top of spending a lot of money I’m going to be treated this way I just rather not. Maybe wearing jeans in an expensive shop is frown upon and I didn’t get the memo, but I would have expected more kindness at times like these.
I love Toast, the clothes are well made and last, natural fibres prevail, customer service is excellent too. However it is one of the more expensive high street shops but I would say you get what you pay for and the quality is very good. Thoroughly recommend, spend on what you wear most and it's good for everyday.
I bought a lovely green cashmere dress here on Saturdays. I have been helped by a girl with quite short brown hair and blue eyes. She was lovely and the other people working were quite friendly too although at that time the shop was crowded. It was my first time in this shop and I 'll definitely come again. Thanks.
Clothes fine, lousy customer service. I bought a perfectly acceptable dress here but was served by a giggling male who was busy flirting with a young customer and left the security tag on my dress as a result. When I called the shop they were very apologetic but when I returned to the shop to have it removed another giggling idiot, this time female, treated me like a criminal, offered no apology and insisted on seeing my receipt which, fortunately, I had. An older member of staff was clearly embarrassed by her behaviour. I may buy their clothes again but not at this branch.
If I could, I would have given no star. Extremely bad customer service. If you want to sell, 'not particularly reasonably priced clothes', good customer service is crucial. Shame as their clothes range are not that bad, but a staff, who seemed to be a manager, totally put me off. Another thing is their online shop charges a postage to send out products during sale period. To return, they always charge it.
