This is not a review for the WC store. Instead, it is regarding my experience of BM and their incompetence. Bon Marche are owned by - Purepay Retail Limited - Ordered online for the first time with Bon Marche. The order was 3 items - a blazer and two pairs of earrings. The package arrived via the courier Evri in a tiny bag. The blazer was not cellophaned wrapped, was crumpled, had white hairs and loose threads over it. It looked worn and did not appear new at all. The garment/price tag was still attached but extremely crumpled. The earrings were just loose in the same bag. I complained to customer services. What a complete fiasco followed. The manager was unaware Evri could collect it to return and repeatedly denied this was a service open to customers. I had to pay out for this, I have done this service with other retailers and no courier collection charge is left with the customer - and nor should it be, if faulty. I am still awaiting my refund of £30 + as they said they needed to 'inspect' it ! I told them if they had only done this prior to it's dispatch I would not have had this trouble. The refund they told me could not be refunded back on to the payment card used ! Instead, it had to be a cheque or even more time wasted making a telephone call and giving bank details for a transfer. Bon Marche are a complete joke. They clearly don't know how payments/refunds are routinely actioned. The manager then implied I needed to 'manage my expectations.' They are a company that are failing in the high street and just cannot cope via the online world. Bon Marche are very old hat and that hat, if found, would no doubt be found crumpled and stuffed at the back somewhere - and then sent out as new to a customer. Never again. I will stick to M&S.

I bought some very lovely clothes and was attended to by a nice old lady. I asked my husband if the shop was made to be run particularly by old people or this occurred based on the location we were at as there were quite a number of old people in the store. It was at Enfield
