What a pathetic service I never experienced in UK. I didn’t know how to give ZERO rating, that’s why I am giving 1 star for this review. From the beginning itself you will feel uncomfortable with the reception staff. She don’t have time to speak to us, because she is busy with mobile. And the worst guy is the token number issuing guy. I don’t know he is giving something from his house or not. His behaviour is like that. He is very rude and absolutely waste of service. The counter people are good and helpful. But the waiting time is too long. They are giving 15 min slot, but you will reach to the counter after 2 hours only. No point of giving the time slot I think. From all these, I feel very bad service. If anyone can do anything about this, that will be helpful for the people who coming for your service. β€œIT’S YOUR DUTY TO PROVIDE A GOOD SERVICE, WE ARE NOT BEGGING, ITS OUR RIGHT TO GET SERVICE β€œ

I visited VFS Global in Hounslow today (1:15 PM slot) to help my wife with her passport renewal, and it was a very poor experience. Despite arriving on time at 1:11 PM, the receptionist told us to wait. However, I then watched him immediately issue tokens to other people who arrived after us with later appointments (1:30 PM) just because they bypassed the queue. When I politely questioned why these people were jumping the queue and why we hadn't received our token yet, the staff member became upset and rude. It felt as though he targeted me for asking a valid question. He then insisted I wait outside and refused to let me accompany my wife, claiming "only the applicant is allowed," yet I watched him allow entire families to go inside with other applicants. My wife does not speak English fluently and needed my support, but the staff member used the rules inconsistently as a way to be difficult. When I asked how long the process might take, he rudely replied, "No idea, maybe 2 or 3 hours." I have used VFS India many times and the staff there are always helpful and polite. This Hounslow branch was a stark contrast. Very unprofessional behavior and zero consistency with their own policies.

Where do I start...? You would think being in the UK, there would be some order, some manners, less of a mess of a process. I'll only give it a 1 star because of the kind lady who processed my application but even still she was pretty glum to say the least. Process going from booking an appointment online all through to my application being processed though, is a mess and a nightmare. It isn't at all clear when you upload all your documents/book your appointment which documents need to be uploaded. I wonder why when so many people get there, they are sent back away to either re-upload stuff or upload new stuff that was never asked for. Oh and they send you to the back of the room where there are only 2 computers and no assistance from anyone on how to work them. I luckily am adept, but I definitely saw poor guys struggling and just panicking. Oh and if you do need to print of anything else there is a charge to it of course. Cause why wouldn't there be when they haven't outlined all the documents needed in the first place right? Going to my first appointment day, might have been outlined that a printout of the appointment letter was required, but I'm not sure why? Its outdated, its unnecessary. I got to the desk where tokens are given, show the appointment confirmation on my phone, the guy at the desk (the rudest guy ever), simply points behind him and says go print it out. Why? what is the need? Anyway, I go print this out.. half an hour/45 minutes later, because of the nonsense with the two computers that I explained above, go back to the token desk, and the guy at the desk has the audacity to ask me why I'm late for my appointment. Whatever, I get my token, and begin the long wait. I would yammer on more about this front desk/token guys attitude, but why even bother. Waiting for your number to be called out.. good luck, theres no order, and no way are you getting called within your 15 minute allocated slot. They CANNOT accommodate for how many they book for. There are seats for people waiting, but not nearly enough for the amount of people they book in. I luckily got a seat during my first appointment (yes my first, I will go into this later), but poor souls would have definitely been upwards of an hour and a half. People scrambling for seats whenever the opportunity arises. Typical Indian office eh. Embarrassing. Finally get my token called out go to the desk, and the guy processing my application says, there are some documents missing from my upload. GREAT. He hands me a list, and shows me everything that should be there. Bare in mind, the site where you upload your docs, only 3 uploads are possible, and it doesn't state what needs to be uploaded. I sadly couldn't get those docs uploaded that day as I didn't have access to them on my phone. So I had to turn around and leave and re-schedule. Come to my second appointment day. I remembered to print out my appointment letter this time. Some poor soul front of me suffered the same fate as me though, where he hadn't printed it out and got told to go do so before getting a token. Anyway get my token and back to the dreaded waiting room, my appointment for 11am? Naaahhh forget that.. I get called up at around 1:30pm. This time.. the whole waiting time, I was stood waiting, because again, overcrowded, overbooked, no where to sit, oh and of course, remember to keep extending your parking during that time as well! I'm talking to some of the people waiting next to me and they were even starting to get agitated at the whole situation, understandably. This was especially embarrassing given these were people from the UK, who were probably going on a trip to India, and this is what represents us Indians btw. Just great. Anyway, I get called up, all my documents uploaded, and finally just got my application processed but god was I glad to be out of there and never have to go back there again. To people who have to go through this process still, I wish you the best of luck, and definitely plan to be there longer than 2hrs. Management/Operations here needs sorted ASAP

Very Poor Service – Visit on 13 October I had a very disappointing experience at VFS Hounslow. My appointment was at 12:15 PM, but I attended around 2:30 PM. Regardless of timing, expect over two hours of waiting. The staff member at Counter No. 2 was extremely rude and unprofessional, she was shouting at applicants and showing no patience. After asking me to get printouts, she repeatedly made me take new tokens, wasting several more hours. There are no printing or Wi-Fi facilities, which makes the process even harder. I had to return home and book a new appointment. The reception staff were polite and helpful, but the behaviour of the lady at Counter No. 2 was unacceptable. VFS management should take strict action and provide good training to the staff

We as family had to visit VFS office at Hounslow for work. Elsie at Hounslow branch was patient supportive and guided us promptly each time. Elsie was organised and thorough and advised what to be done. She gave us enough time to go back after making appropriate changes to papers. The intake at the entrance is well managed so no one misses their appointment. Good staff and good environment. Happy with service.

I visited here yesterday to renew my damage passport. Everyone is very humble here especially the person who was giving token God bless him. He was helping everyone. The employees were so soft spoken & courteous. Best embassy. I agree it's time consuming & delayed appointments as well but once your documentation is perfect hardly 5-6 minutes they took. My experience was awesome. I visited there with my 17 months daughter she also enjoyed. So no complaints.

I had a mixed experience regarding the Visa. Imagine booking an appointment and then queueing to join the official queue for your appointment. My advice to anyone is to turn up one hour in advance because only then will you have a chance of getting to your desired appointment time. Second critical advice. Carry all your documents in a plastic sealable wallet. They can ask you at any time for that extra copy and they expect you to do it then and there! The checking officer literally lost my extra baby pictures because my things were dumped on the adjacent counter (so that the next person could usurp my place). Keep all your things in the plastic wallet. They don't care and won't accept any responsibility even if in the middle of checking! Save yourself stress. Third critical advice. Carry 50p pieces in your pocket because the solitary photocopier will not let you photocopy and you will need to exit the building to find the downstairs business who accepts card. Final piece of advice. I have never known a 21st century service that requires you to bring proof of your appointment on paper and submit it with your application (per applicant). I was required to make a copy on the spot. Totally ridiculous and defeats the object of having an online booking system.

You have to carry your printed appointment letter. You are not entertained very early, only closer to your appointment time. Staff were busy, but helpful and efficient. Photocopy machine was not working.

I should start by saying that they at least get 2 stars because, to their credit, they do generally get rhe job done IF (and it's a significant 'if') you manage to follow your way through the totally baffling maze of guidelines for any kind of application that they handle, and provide all the right documentation. That is largely the fault of the Indian High Commission though. What makes this place so awful is the abysmal wait times caused by, I presume, a combination of poor appointment planning on their part and the fact that so many people make mistakes in their application, resulting in every appointment taking longer than necessary. Big tip: only go on a day where you can get the earliest appointment possible and turn up well in advance of your appointment time. Wait times otherwise are appallingly and unacceptably long. I waited 2 hours having arrived at 9.30am - how can they already be 2 hours behind schedule that early in the morning??!! When you arrive you'll get a ticket number and then have to wait in the mercifully air conditioned waiting room (or when it's really busy you'll be told to go and sit outside or in the cafe downstairs) and then you're called up by an automated system with screens showing which counter to go to, but in an order which presumably corresponds to your order of arrival (but it seemed pretty random) so bears no relation to the actual appointment time (that's why it's so beneficial to just get an early appointment time). If you arrive too far ahead of your appointment you'll be told to come back later, having already queued once. The building is old and tired, the toilets are dirty, smelly and (in the gents at least) broken, the seating arrangement in the waiting room is ridiculously inefficient, so it's hard to move around and you sit often with someone else's head only a few inches in front of your own. Miserable. There is now a cafe and a little shop for getting you India visa/passport/OCI photo taken and you can park in the car park if there's space (see photo of charges - and definitely pay using the app so that you can extend your time without going back downstairs and queueing for the machine, as you don't want to miss your number being called), but I can't stress enough, there were people who arrived after me who must be been waiting for probably way way longer than 2 hours, so unless you want to waste a whole day, GET AN EARLY APPOINTMENT!

Appointment times are irrelevant. It's first come first served. Book an appointment at 8:30am and show up at 8am if you want to be seen in the first hour. Otherwise, it's an all-day appointment. Printing, photocopying, passport photo services available on site at high cost. Everything else about this venue is a hellish exercise in cost cutting and contempt for the customer. It's a disgusting endurance event, especially if you have children. Come with multiple adults so one can wait and the others can go outside. 200 people crammed into a waiting room with 150 seats. Expensive and bad cafe on the ground floor.
