We were in the area and looking for a bite to eat. Google search brought up The Arkle and from the reviews it seemed a no trainer. We weren't dissapointed with anything. Probably the most friendly and engaging people you're ever likey to meet. A very interesting interior, very cleverly dressed and presented a stand out to a vast majority of similar establishments. A very comprehensive menu well displayed and visible. Our shredded pork sandwiches were in large breadcakes and generously filled. Stuffing, apple sauce, fried onions and gravy were all available to add. Large cups of tea and a couple of very nice and tasty mince pies. Good value for money.

What a lovely little café so glad I stumbled upon this place. Lots of home made food and the scones were amazing had to take one home for later. The staff are super friendly and so attentive also it’s very affordable a great option for someone on a budget wanting a tasty meal, this place is also perfect for someone wanting food on the go.

Brilliant place. Glad we diverted off the A1 based on a Google maps search for "cafes near here". Amazing prices for generous sized meals. Friendly, helpful staff and the cafe interior is quirky and fun. You could spend hours here and still not see all the funny little features like the fake mouse hole with a for sale sign. The food was freshly prepared and well presented.

Well what can I say I've been wanting to try a breakfast here for ages seems as it's on my door step and all these reviews raving about the food, So yesterday I tried the Large Breakfast which consists of double everything!! And boy was I not disappointed I can honestly say I am a bit of a food critic but this was one of my best breakfasts I've had in a very long time I couldn't fault it in any way, everything was cooked to perfection... The atmosphere was buzzing staff was friendly what a pleasant experience. All for just £7.95 This will not be the last time they see me in there.

Great food, reasonably priced, decent portion size with friendly staff that can’t do enough to help you. Got the feeling that if anything was wrong (which it wasn’t) that the staff would do everything in their power to right it.

Genuinely the nicest cafe I've ever been to. Jamie and all the other staff are brilliant, the food is always lovely and atmosphere is friendly. The food, both quality and quantity far outweigh the price, I've been to cafes in the same area where you can pay twice the price for half the food with half the quality. My only criticism is that I wish it was open every day!. Keep up the good work everyone! Oh and Rebel said thanks for the sausage!

Fantastic Cafe! Stopped on our journey south on the A1(M) looking for a quick bite and our expectations were exceeded. Had an incredible sandwich, a lovely cake and a much needed coffee. The staff could not have been more friendly. We will definitely return on our next road trip this way.
