5 people behind counter. 1 working 4 gossiping. Eventually ordered drinks but had to ask for cups not cardboard. And was asked why cardboard wouldn't do! Then had to ask for fresh hot chocolate not what had been stood for who knows how long. Poor attitudes for all but the young man who was working
I ordered 2 toasties and a bacon bap along with juice and a coffee before my son's doctor appointment. As I was waiting for my order, my name was called and I was handed my coffee and a bag with the food in. I said thank you and left for my son's appointment. We got there and I checked the bag, both toasties but no bacon sandwich. Obviously I didn't have the time to run back before his appointment so we went after. When I got there I told the girl at the till about my order and that I hadn't found a bacon sandwich in the bag. She looked around and then looked back at me. She then said "we called out a bacon bap but no one came to collect it" I then said "oh I'm sorry I was handed a bag and assumed all the food was in the bag?" Another lady then spoke to me (I'm guessing a manager) who said "I handed you the bag with toasties. The bacon baps get cooked separately. I will make another for you but they get called out separately." She was quite abrupt and rude and I felt quite talked down to as if I should've known that the to go bag she handed me wouldn't have my full order in it. I wouldnt think anyone would assume that when a bag is handed to them they'd still have to wait around for another bit of their order. I wasn't told "Toasties are in the bag it will be a few more minutes on your bap" I was just handed the bag. A helpful tip for the staff working in a coffee shop in a hospital, a bit of compassion and understanding goes a long way. You never know what issues people are dealing with, maybe being abrupt and rude isn't the correct approach. Also maybe wait until the whole order is finished and in the bag before giving the bag to the customer or at least tell the customer to hang on for the other part of their order.
Coffee’s fine. The air? Not so much. Despite the big “No Smoking” and Smoke Free hospital and grounds signs people light up everywhere, even right outside Costa and the hospital entrance. With windows open in the heat, the smoke drifts in, making it an unpleasant place to be.
It's a busy Costa in the hospital, coffee is how you would expect, nice... The food is really expensive for what you get however. Despite how busy it gets service is always friendly and efficient , a little bit of banter and chat, but not too much to be uncomfortable.
Went to Costa whilst waiting for someone. Great coffee great selection of food and cakes/muffins. Reasonably priced, worth a visit if in the hospital!
They have a great selection of drinks, cakes, and sandwiches.
Ok coffee but frequently tables full of used crockery.

It's a Costa so it's pretty much what you'd expect of any other Costa. The lovely chap working Sunday 27th Feb helped me, a stressed out upset in-patient with his enormous patience trying to sort out a Google payment on my phone. I got there in the end, thank you so much, excellent service. Coffee wasn't bad either! :)
Alovely space in rhe entrance of rotherham hospital .this is very busy most times but staff serve quickly..always have a nice coffee every time i have an appointment bit pricey if on a low budget
