Erratic opening times. This place never opens on time! Sometimes 10 am sometimes later 11am Very frustrating when you want to buy something before you start work Very badly managed or run as it seems to be a regular thing, not sure why. Maybe change your opening times from 9 to 12
Incredibly kind and helpful staff, helping me and my partner navigate which hiking boots were right for us (we’re quite new to this). Prices are all very fair and competitive too, with a great amount of stock to choose from.
I bought an Berghaus Adara 500 tent and matching porch earlier this year. After just 2 camping trips one of the sections of one of the tent poles split, leaving dangerous carbon fibre splinters. After 3 trips, all 3 poles had the same fault, along with on of the poles from the porch. Blacks response was to tell me to buy replacement poles when this was clearly a manufacturing fault. To compound this disdain, they sent me a link what the said where the correct poles, but they're the wrong size and design. I made a complaint after that shoddy advice and 2 weeks after that, I've still not heard back from them. Berghaus customer care won't help as all the service for tents comes from Blacks.
I can not recommend this place and the service high enough . A professional and friendly face awaits you on every visit , no pushy hard sale required , you know why you are here . A great selection of quality products for the outdoor person , pro , novice and newcomers alike They know and understand their clients needs , and with gentle point in the right direction you will get what you are looking for , or even a new idea at times I have been shopping here regularly so its about time i showed my appreciation . Great shop and very good quality products. However, four people were working but only one of them was activity helping customers. The rest of the staff was standing and chatting at the till all the time. When I was paying it was so awkward as they were keep chatting each other and making bad comments about other colleagues. I felt very uncomfortable.
All clothes are thin on body. Long on arms. Never have my shoe size in stock. W6. Lots of sales. Friendly girl staff.
I found the staff very friendly and helpful when I bought things in Blacks. The shop has a nice atmosphere when yoy walk in. Everything is easy to find or if not staff are on hand to help.
Got decent boots cheaper than I expected. Helpful staff, offered to exchange if found not to fit.
Top fellas, service was exceptional. Thankyou Chris & co for great service. Exchanged my Keen for Merrell with no fuss. First place I will go when purchasing new gear.
