   Lovely pub that myself and 7 colleagues went to yesterday for an impromptu lunch. Spotlessly clean, lovely waitress who was very helpful as we descended noisily and all of us ordered food. Food was lovely "pub grub", couldn't fault it. Large portions! Would highly recommend and if we;re in the area again, we'll come back!

   Had a mix up with a restaurant I had booked a table with, I'm glad this happened as we went to the white lion for roast dinners instead and they was delicious... Great price and the portions sizes won't leave anyone hungry. All home made and the Yorkshire puddings where huge!!! Can't wait to go back for another, staff always friendly cheerful and helpful and welcoming.

   New owners - really friendly. The food is lovely - on a Sunday you can still pick from the menu or have a huge Sunday lunch. We had home cooked fish pie and a massive sticky toffee pudding - less than £20. The pub is being slowly done up by the looks of it, still a bit rough around the edges, but was safe, good distance between tables etc, hand gel on the way in, people being sensible. These local places need our support now. They also do takeaway if you are nervous of going out.
