Stumbled across this place through a drive out whilst in the area and will return... a very warm welcome with a good selection of drinks. No food served at the time of visit however dog/child friendly throughout.

Great country pub, reasonably priced, pub garden, games room, well maintained and clean.. great place to chill after a long walk.

Felt a little bit awkward in here. Good was lovely and the service was great (depending on who served). Shame it only serves food on Weds then Fri-Sun but can see why. It’s dog friendly but quite small inside to so multiple dogs could cause issues.

Booked a meal for 9 people for a birthday meal months in advance. Checked last Wednesday 13th Nov 2024 if all was ok for the booking and no problems; was told - yes everything was ok. Turned up last night 20th Nov 2024 gave name and people. Cannot serve us as the chef walked out a few weeks ago! Just burgers and pizza can offer. For some people this would be fine, but this was a special meal for a special birthday - the reason of booking the Blue Bell was because we'd been there before and the person whose birthday it was chose the venue. As lovely meals (traditional). We explained the situation, already booked, checked a week ago. The landlord did not even check the booking in book (if there was one). Apologised...we were all dressed up with no meal to sit to. Plus they had funeral party in (that's fair enough), did they double book? No phone call to inform there was only pizza or burgers on offer, not a full menu - wasn't even aware we had booked! I stood and phone other places to eat whilst landlord just stood there. Informed him it was an 80th birthday meal. No complimentary drink for the 80yr old. We had a wasted journey and had to now go somewhere else. Absolutely appalled, lost a good customer. Stars 0, but I can't put zero!

First time visit, and I was hooked. The Blue Bell is a beautiful English pub. It was mother's day lunch a Sunday roast beef dinner, and it was delicious. I forgot to take a photo because I just wanted to eat it. The staff were lovely and had a table with pretty surroundings. I couldn't fault it at all. Definitely on my list to visit again.

What a lovely village pub . Called in on our way home and was met with a warm smiley welcome from the young lady behind the bar. The place is spotless and seems to be very well run . Interesting menu with lots of choices for all types of diner. I'm having the Jamaican jerk chicken next time I go . 2 cask ales black sheep best and theakstons light foot ale I opted for the latter and it was the best pint of it I have had outside of Masham.

We (family of 5) turned up on spec on a Saturday afternoon for food and couldn't have been any friendlier or accomodating. Food was lovely, everyone enjoyed their meals and the games room an added bonus to entertain the teenagers. Looking forward to Summer and spending more time outside in what looks to be a great outside space with fantastic views.

Had a shared ham hock for Sunday lunch. Huge portion of fantastic quality food. Very reasonably priced and excellent service in a nicely presented pub. Highly recommend.
