I was impressed by the welcoming atmosphere and the professionalism of the staff in particular a young lady I think was called Lucy very attentive and a great attention to detail.

The Royal Oak in Whitwell is quite simply the perfect village pub. Bold statement, yes... but it manages to balance the needs of the village day to day and week to week, supporting local charities and being a hub for locals to gather and socialise, whilst also managing those special occasions. This is interspersed with fantastic theme nights and activities throughout the year to suit many different tastes and styles. The past year of Mark and Kay's stewardship has been nothing but uplifting. The range and quality of drinks is exceptional, and the staff are warm and friendly—especially Mark, who's become a big part of the community with a warm and friendly welcome to all that come in for a drink (dogs very welcome too!). Next time you're in the area, do yourself a favour and drop in. Support a local business and have a great drink in a great pub
