This hospital is a sign of our country falling apart. I am in excruciating pain and can't get a simiple procedure that takes less that 10 minutes that they do in Europe for less than £300. Broken hospital not interested in treating people just sending them home with Pills & Cream. The Urgent Treatment Centre doctor I seen today was unwilling to refer me, prefers to send me home in misery.

I have had a lot of health issues over the past year or so. I have nothing but praise for all the staff at Stepping Hill from cleaners to consultants. They all do an amazing job with very little resources or thanks. Always grateful for my treatment and care by everyone at the hospital.

Took my brother here last month as it was closest A&E to us while we were in the area on the weekend. Staff are kind and patient, and trying their best with the amount of funding and pay they get. However it still doesn't mean that the current speed and service is okay, especially for people with worse injuries, it was a 6 hour wait (from 10pm-4am), just to get told to go home in 2 mins. Parking is ridiculously expensive it's a shame to capitalise on people in need, but this is done nationwide and if at least some of the money goes back to the hospital then fair enough. Overall, it's as good(bad) as any other NHS in the country, at least for us it was exactly as good(bad) as it is in Luton, where we live.

I knew the NHS was having problems but my recent visit to Stepping Hill A&E was an eye opener. After over a 2 hour wait for an ambulance I was booked in to reception and then was at the mercy of the system. There must gave been over 100 people waiting many of them had been there for a long time. I arrived at 20.30 and was promised pain relief on arrival. Despite asking 5 nurses over a number of hours I didn't receive any until after 1.00 (next day!). I was eventually seen but did not get out until just before 06.00 next day. Almost 10 hours in A&E . Only 1 nurse seemed to show any concern or empathy with the patients and unfortunately I have forgotten her name because she deserves a medal. Unfortunately I can only give an overall rating . Please note that does not reflect on the facilities, personnel or provision of service but rather on the state that the overall experience. In the 21st century the level of emergency medical assistance for this country is now becoming dangerous. Despite the platitudes of all the political parties the system is obviously seriously broken and only looks like it will get worse. Overall a very scary and disappointing experience.

In need of serious improvement. Any issues you might have they will leave you in agony and send you back to your gp even though you are in need of urgent medical attention. They’ll just give you painkillers and send you home. Rude receptionists, overworked medical staff and no beds is something you will face as soon as you walk in the department. In case your blood work comes back clean you are sent home despite the fact you are in pain for months. There’s no sympathy for patients.

Probably waited about 1.5 hrs which is very good. Then the Dr was very nice and dealt with my problem well. The problem that we had I wasn't very mobile and they have blocked off access to main part of hsp and the A& E. Even the staff couldn't tell me where I could go and sit inside and wait for husband to pick me up. And when you arrived it's not clear how to get to A & E. They seem to forget patients are In trouble and need help even if not coming in an ambulance. I know the hsp well and we couldn't work it out and staff have no idea either, had to ignore the block and go on amb route. A real mess and if you were in a bit of a panic as well!

I am giving 5 stars because of the amazing doctor that was on duty on Saturday night (02JUL22) His name is Dr. Tsanko Stefanov. The kindest, nicest doctor I have ever met. I called 111 explained my symptoms and an appointment was arranged at another clinic, unfortunately I was misdiagnosed despite explaining my concerns. I decided to go to A&E because I was certain something was wrong and I was in so much pain. I am glad I did and I was lucky enough to meet Dr Tsanko, it was worth the 7 hours I waited. He displayed empathy and compassion, he listened to me with care, run all necessary tests and confirmed what I suspected. I am pregnant and if left untreated this condition could lead to severe consequences for me and my baby. Words cannot express my sincere appreciation, I wish all doctors were like Dr Tsanko.

An absolute shambles, lied to about notes. Was told i could have a plaster cast changed if i waited at A+E after ringing round every alternate department. I see a nurse to get told they are too busy and cant do it without trauma notes from other hospital. Just rang stepping hill to complain and the notes they apparently needed were right infont of them and were sent yesterday. I appreciate its busy but how awful. Im now stuck with a loose plaster cast doing absolutley nothing, meaning the operation i had was a waste of time. Not the first time the service has been terrible. I hate lies. Ill bear in mind to nwck a bottle of vodka next time i go to A+E, only way you seem to get required treatment.
