If I could give this no star I would. Meal was horrible. Bland chicken, bland risotto. Terrible. Husband's meal not much better, gamon and chips. Would give it a miss.

Loved it! Great ale, friendly staff (but most important professional and competent). The place itself looks alright. Classic English pub. Beer garden looks nice, spacious, looked after. With a cold pint, it's the perfect place to just take your food off the acceleration and cruise, have a laugh, socialize. Life is short and this pub is the perfect spot to just forget about it aof a moment!! Highly recommende. Enjoyed it very much myself, from its structure and interiors to its friendly and professional staff. Still, only 4 stars and not five because of its interiors. Clean and looked after, but a bit old and with time related marks here and there. Needs a refurbishment. Otherwise would've been a clear five stars!!

This pub is excellent with friendly staff and a cheap pint, my dads kept the atmosphere alive in the pub and you will find him just to the right of the door where he sits until 9pm every night. He gets the lip on aswell if ya sit in his seat, anyway well worth a visit dog friendly with outside seating.

Upon my most recent visit to this fine establishment i was astounded by the cleanliness and fragrant aroma, reminiscent of times bygone. The refreshing pint of john smiths was served at the ambient temperature and the jest of the landlord was second to only john bishop, yet he is much more charismatic. If you frequent this quaint pub on a weekend your ears will be treated to some rather majestic dance music,It really does cater for everyone,Only last week there was a drag race in the back garden consisting of two heavily modified mobility scooters with the winner getting their own vip parking spot. What else could one desire.

Called in when passing through Barnsley on the way to Newquay on my penny farthing, the alchohol selection was superb. The staff were a delightful bunch of characters, the landlord somewhat reminded me of Butterbean. The atmosphere was great and I sincerely enjoyed my time there, will definitely call on my return leg from Newquay to the Shetland’s. Gracias.

I often frequent this fine establishment and find it most welcoming,The staff are rather eccentric but this adds to the charm of the place. The beer garden also as parking for up to 12 mobility scooters and a large grassed area,Perfect if you fancy a little jog.
