   I was referred to Dorset Orthopaedic at Burton upon Trent (The Midlands) initially following my accident back in November 2021, I was unable to attend straight away due to the injuries that I had received and the treatment that I was receiving in hospital. I first visited the Midlands clinic to meet the team and get myself assessed and work out a plan given that I was still undergoing treatment following my injuries so it was hard to start building a prosthetic limb, but it didn’t stop the team to start looking at how they could support me. The team at the Midlands really looked out for me and whilst I could do very little from a mobility point of view, but this wasn’t for long as the physio Emily got me moving around and showed me that I was able to get off the floor if I fell over and move about outside around people for example. Alice had the headache of trying to build a prosthetic limb that would be safe and comfortable using a variety of method, vacuum, pin lock and leg sleeve. As I was still recovering from my injuries as well as additional operations things changed on a regular basis but this team at the Midlands rose to the challenge and did a fantastic job looking after me until I was transferred to Dorset Orthopaedic Manchester. I felt like the team at Burton really looked after me, from stepping into reception, receiving my treatment and taking delivery of my limb to arranging appointments with the team in the back office. All of the team under Moose are fantastic. When I was transferred to the Manchester Clinic for Dorset Orthopaedic, I was put under the care of Kate as my physio and Luke as my prosthetist. I was initially uncomfortable with the change, but it wasn’t long before I was made welcome and was getting looked after very much in the same way as I was previously which came as a relief as I was having lots of things changing around that time, lots of new faces and appointments for issues around my case. I received a fantastic service from Julie & Claire, who make the appointments (and sort out the paperwork) as well as from Kate who now realises, I am not as flexible as maybe she would like me to be. Luke took hold of the baton to look at new ways to make a socket that would fit and that would be comfortable enough to prevent me having further surgery to my residual limb. Luke absolutely delivered and I have not one but three sockets to use on different limbs which I rotate and use daily. One of the sockets I asked if it could be made adaptable so I could use different feet, this would keep the cost down as I could up to three feet on one socket. The reason for this was so I could change my footwear easier by releasing the lock and allow the foot to drop off so I could take my shoe off. Whilst Luke was busy working on my Leg, Kate would be busy making me stronger and slightly more flexible so I could face the world with a bit more confidence. I have only given 5 stars because that I all I could give, if there was an option for 10 I recon I’d have given them a 10, I can’t thank this team enough.

   I had an excellent experience at Dorset Orthopaedic Clinic. The staff were highly professional, and the service I received was truly first class. From the initial consultation through to treatment, the clinic provided a comprehensive assessment and a well-structured plan tailored to my needs. What really stood out was how well integrated the prosthetic and physiotherapy services were — it made my rehabilitation feel seamless and coordinated. The team were more than willing to assist with communication and coordination with other professionals involved in my care, which was incredibly helpful. Everyone I interacted with — from the receptionists and support staff to the prosthetists and physiotherapists — was friendly, approachable, and always ready to help. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Dorset Orthopaedic to anyone in need of expert and compassionate care.

   In 2018, after many operations to my left foot, I elected to undergo a below knee amputation of my left leg. Visiting Pace Rehabilitation, as it was then, helped me to proceed with this feeling confident that I would resume normal life and keep my independence. The positive, professional and caring ethos was obvious from the beginning and at all times I was included in the planning and timescales. I was quickly fitted with check sockets and my prosthesis when it arrived was comfortable and looked good. The rehabilitation was also excellent and I spent time with lan who was responsible for the limb, and Rosie the physio, ensuring when walking, pavement and crowd negotiating, and stair climbing I was safe. I have all the Staff at Pace to thank for making what could have been a traumatic time perfectly agreeable and at times fun! Recently after having problems with my NHS leg I decided to return to Dorset Orthopaedic Manchester Clinic and was placed in lan's care. Once again all communication with the clinic was friendly and professional with any issues quickly resolved. Within five weeks I was no longer struggling with pain and discomfort, but walking well with a new and very comfortable prosthesis. I know that the care does not end now and am happy that there are such amazing people there for me if needed. Many thanks Ian and all - definitely money well spent.

   I've been going to Pace for years and they're brilliant, such nice and friendly staff throughout, prosthetics are top quality. Don't believe the 1 star review, if you have a problem with a prosthetic that isn't your own fault they don't make you pay. I've had 4 or 5 different prosthetics each with there own problems because every persons amputation is different there's no 1 fit solution that works for everyone. Highly recommend as they get you sorted A.S.A.P.

   Do not go near these guys!! Total cowboys. They're quick to take your money but once you pay them the service is zero. The prosthetic leg will start having issues (created by them) and they will ask you to pay to fix each new problem. From experience I would advice you go elsewhere or take a lawyer with you, otherwise you will regret wasting your money.

Their prosthetic services are awe inspiring and their dedicated services are tailored to each patients needs perfectly. Such a welcoming atmosphere as soon as you come through the doors. They also offer amazing sports Prosthetics and specialised one to one physiotherapy to get the best recovery possible.
