   I have been at the Village Surgery since around 2007 and after reading the reviews on Google, I thought I had to try to rectify the records as I believe they should get a full 5 stars. The doctors are second to none. They are part of this new generation of professionals who are open to their patients' opinion, take time to listen to their concerns and expectations and go to the extent of reseaching on topics if needs be. I have always felt that they actually enjoyed their profession. My friends based in other surgeries can't believe the help I get from my doctors. The office manager is very capable; some of the receptionists can be a bit unpolished but generally, the service at the desk is very good. The building is clean and welcoming. Parking is not always easy but arriving a good 10 minutes before the appointment can help as people come but also vacate quite quickly.

   Went to the health center to check child’s weight and height. The lady at the reception didn’t really care, just told me to take a number card from the desk and wait. 5 minutes later, another lady came and got a number below mine and the nurse came out and called her in before us. When we went inside, she didn’t even care and just said everything looks fine and didn’t really answer my concerns. Just told me to see the GP if I have any concerns. So I don’t know why I bothered to come check my child’s weight and height when I already did that at home. I came for some diet advice but none was given. The only positive experience was that there were plenty of parking.

   Nice building with friendly staff. The older male Dr Westwood was, to be frank, quite apathetic. Maybe this has resulted in many years in the field with retirement on the horizon, or maybe it was because I was a young man who he didn't take seriously. Answered questions vaguely and acted with a slightly condescending tone. He isn't someone I'd recommend you go talk to for anything important. He even forgot to book me something for me which he said he would (for this it was his job to not mine). Aside from this everything is perfect. Reception staff are great keep it up!

   My GPs/Nurses and staff are all good communicators, listen to problems and issues, work with you to find solutions/causes. Usually can arrange telephone/face-to-face (special circumstances at current time} appointments within a short time period. There is a free car park or on-road parking. There are several GP Practices and other clinics at Grove Lane Centre. The waiting area has been adapted for Covid rules, sanitised station at entrance.
