10/10 - The Stay Inn Manchester is everything you want from a budget hotel, but much, much more. Right on the doorstep of the City Centre, and very affordable. Where this ‘Budget’ Hotel differs from others in the field, is that this one is supremely well run, with an array of truly fantastic staff, for who, nothing is too much trouble. We stayed for two weeks during a difficult house move, and The Stay Inn Manchester bent over backwards to accommodate us, and help us during this very busy time. Friendly - Clean - Fantastic. I can thoroughly recommend this Hotel to you.

The room was standard, ensuite was dated with parts falling off and bugs crawling. The shower gel/ hand wash was on a dispenser and honestly couldn't tell how old they were. The towels very dry. Conerns we had, and wish we read the reviews is that they take your card details in case of "damage" . The long number and all the details were recorded even though they had our card details on the system when we booked, for about 2 weeks we didn't bother keeping money on the card incase someone was going to steal from it. The location is 20 minutes walk into centre but at night it was rough, young lads standing outside in groups. At one point we were debating leaving without staying the night.

  3. Old England ★★★☆☆

The location is only suitable if you’re coming for work — there’s nothing around. The only nearby pub serves mediocre food. The hotel itself is acceptable for the price, but again, only for a work-related stay. I definitely wouldn’t recommend it for a holiday. It also feels like the hotel was built in the 1970s — everything looks outdated.

If I could give zero stars, I absolutely would. This hotel is a complete disaster. The service is very, very bad, and the staff at the reception are unfriendly and unwelcoming from the moment you arrive. The rooms are horrible – absolutely unacceptable. The bed squeaks constantly, it is way too small for two people even though it’s supposed to be a double, and overall the condition of the room is shocking. What made things even worse is that the reception actually asked me for my bank card and my PIN, which I found extremely suspicious and unprofessional. On top of that, they refused to store my luggage, something every normal hotel should be able to do. This was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. Zero stars if possible. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

Had a bad experience at another hotel, but this place really came through for me. I arrived around 9 AM and, for an extra £20, they kindly let me check in early (usual check-in is 2 PM). The staff were super friendly and helpful, and the room was clean and comfortable. The only downside was the bathroom—it was quite small. Another issue was being asked for my full bank details over the phone just to make the booking, which didn’t feel very secure. That said, the overall experience was great. I slept really well, and the location is perfect close to the city centre with secure parking right outside for just £9 per 24 hours. Would definitely consider staying here again.
