Arrived at the hotel tired and ready for bed, only to find the world’s most bizarre room. You enter through the door into a tiny hallway, then climb a steep flight of stairs to reach an attic room where a giant skylight sits directly above the bed—with no working blind. I went down to report the issue, only to be told that the blind has never worked, and then asked what the problem was. I replied, “There’s a huge window above the bed with no blind,” to which the receptionist responded, “Is there any light coming in?” I said, “No, because it’s 10 p.m.” Assuming the penny would drop, I was surprised when she followed up with, “So what’s the problem?” I explained, “It’s the strangest thing—planet Earth has this feature called a sunrise, and I’m guessing I’m not the first person to point this out… but apparently I am.” The receptionist seemed genuinely put out by the idea that this might not be acceptable in a hotel room, and implied that it was my problem if I was bothered by the lack of blinds. I wouldn’t stay here again. I’ve stayed twice, and on both occasions there were major problems with the room, while the staff were either unpleasant or unavailable.

Rooms are very compact or cosy , they are lovely and clean. Beautiful Hotel, the staff are really nice. The bar tender on Saturday was so chatty. The lady on reception was amazing. The location it perfect, and we got a lovely upgrade. Thanks for the lovely room.

We stayed at this hotel on Tuesday 22nd July, travelling from the Lake District for a one-night break. While the reception staff were lovely and welcoming, unfortunately the experience quickly went downhill. When we arrived in Room 305, the air conditioning wouldn’t switch on and was showing an error message on the display. The room was unbearably hot with no natural airflow. Reception said they had contacted an engineer, but later messaged to say they were still trying to get hold of the company. A fan was provided, but it just pushed hot air around and did nothing to improve the situation. In the end, it was so uncomfortable that we decided to leave early, cutting our stay short. Really disappointing for a hotel of this standard – we expected far better.

Having stayed in many hotels in Manchester, including the supposed “best” ones, I can confidently say my stay here was leagues above any of them. I’d go as far as to say this was the best hotel stay of my life. From the friendly greeting at reception at check-in, to the immaculate suite, this stay provided everything I could have wanted. I can’t wait to stay there again.

Being a frequent manchester visitor and booking a different hotel every trip this is possibly the worst one in terms of value for money. If your looking for the Harry Potter cupboard under the stairs experience look no further, tiny cramped room with AC controls that remain locked so the room was stifling with no way of opening a window. Sound petty but no biscuits to have with a morning brew, this should all be factored into the value for money scale and we have paid less for more in Manchester quite a few times. Crap TV System Bathroom light decided to turn on at 2am and could not be turned off Very noisy surroundings Room was pokey Room was a sauna Shower was meh Bed was practically a single I would suggest people look at hotels like Dakota, Malmaison, Stock Exchange and many more.

We went here as part of Ashe's Restaurant; what stunningly delicious food, great atmosphere, and staff service. Rita waited our table and was excellent.
