I’ve accompanied my partner to Zayra Dental, Leeds several times this year and she has always walked out in pain and gaslight into thinking the pain will subside. They clearly don’t care about patients, only money. We have visited about 7 times this year and issues not rectified. Dentist give different clinical opinions and tell you you have to go private for restorative work without a clear rationale. They do not read previous dental records as you see different dentist’s most times. An important appointment was cancelled the day before where she was booked in for root canal and multiple fillings. I cannot recommend this practice. Zero integrity and no compassion.

I’ve been to this practice over six times this year due to ongoing dental pain, and unfortunately my experience has been that more problems have been created than resolved. I’ve had fillings that required re-review, and was later advised I needed multiple fillings and a possible root canal. An appointment for this treatment was cancelled the day before and rearranged with a different dentist. At the rearranged appointment, I explained I was already in pain. The dentist Dr Mahvish Aftab stated that her clinical assessment differed from the previous dentist and carried out a different number of fillings, rather than the treatment I had originally been booked in for. I left that appointment in more pain than when I arrived, which is not what you would expect following dental treatment. I later developed constant nerve pain, with sensitivity to hot, cold, and even cold air to several upper teeth. When I contacted the practice for an urgent review, I was told they were fully booked until the end of the year, despite the pain being directly related to recent treatment. NHS 111 advised me to contact the dentist, as the treatment had been started by this practice. I was eventually seen urgently by Dr Mahvish Aftab, where a brief X-ray and tapping test were carried out. The dentist did not appear to have access to my full dental history, including the fact that a previous root canal carried out at this practice had already failed. I was told that there was “nothing that could be done” to relieve my pain other than extracting the tooth there and then or seeing a specialist. This was extremely distressing to hear while in significant pain. No interim pain-relieving options were discussed, no clear diagnosis or written treatment plan was provided, and there was no acknowledgement of the impact of the pain or the emotional distress caused. Being presented with tooth extraction option by Dr Mahvish so abruptly, without person-centred discussion or proper explanation, felt unacceptable. 2 days ago also requested a copy of my historical dental records, but was not given a clear answer as to whether these could be provided. Overall, I’m very disappointed with the lack of continuity, inconsistent clinical judgements, poor follow-up, and lack of access to care while in pain.. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this practice.

I do not recommend this dentist, Mrs. Mahvish Aftab. In my personal experience, the only thing she seemed to handle well was basic teeth cleaning. My fillings started coming out after just two weeks, and I had to return three times for adjustments. She also told me that the fillings would “settle in” over two weeks — which honestly sounded ridiculous to me. On top of that, she insisted she had worked on tooth number 8… even though, as far as I know, there is no such tooth in that area. This is just my experience, but I do not recommend her and want to warn others.

Most pleasant experience with Mahvish. Lovely dentist, listened to me and addressed my concerns, treatment was quick and she ensured I’m as comfortable as I can be. Nurse Maddie was also very nice and pleasant from the get go. Great experience overall!

Went for an emergency appointment this morning , payed by nhs because I can’t work at the moment. The receptionist was sat on her phone watching videos and then took ages in the bathroom on the phone. needed my infected tooth taking out and they said 30 minutes isn’t enough time, despite being booked as an emergency. I needed antibiotics and they said they can’t offer me any. Very unprofessional do not go here. NHS has reported them
