Over the moon with my cut and colour yesterday, really friendly salon. Would highly recommend.

I have been here before and as a mum with a newborn I thought I would treat myself and get my hair coloured, cut and blowdried. What was supposed to be an enjoyable experience was a very upsetting one in the end. The hairdresser asked me to brush my hair before colouring(so that she wouldn't hurt me). Hair was all brushed , she then proceeded to colour it. After the wash she realised that my hair had tangled at the bottom so she tried to blow dry it as this would “help”with the detangling. I questioned this as I have curly hair and surely this would be pushing more hair into the knot. She said no it helps. Hair was in an absolute mess and she couldnt detangle my hair ( that was perfectly fine when I went) so she had to cut it with scissors. She then straightened my hair and gave it a trim. “Forgot” to show me at the end which is questionable now. I went home and to my horror I had a massive gap in my hair I phoned to ask them to fix it. Lady that did my hair was a bit rude telling me that I was in a rush to go with my children hence why she didnt show me. Went back and she had to cut another 4 inch of my hair to make the hair look level. She said i saw the gap but thought you didnt want to have more cut, it was apparent at this time that she tried to hide it. End of the story I paid £100 to ruin my hair. One star for fixing it when I went back. Otherwise deserves zero. Definitely not going back.

I do not normally leave negative reviews but in this case I feel it is needed. I visited the salon on 03/03 for root regrowth, colour top up and a trim. I mentioned in my consultation 3 weeks prior that I do have occasional psoriasis on my scalp. I also mentioned this multiple times on the day of my service before any bleach was applied to my roots. I have also had my roots bleached upwards of 30 times in the past 8 years at multiple salons. My head was burning more than normal which happens sometimes. Everything was finished and I left the salon and noticed my scalp was matted and weeping and very red. I notified the salon who were adamant it was an allergic reaction. I went to the doctors as soon as I could after treatment and the doctor told me it was chemical burns and prescribed me a 3 day course of antibiotics. The salon offered me a refund as a “good will gesture” which I was appreciative of. I’ve been in today to collect it and been told that I did not mention that I had psoriasis and even after mentioning that it was diagnosed as a chemical burn the salon were very persistent with it being partially caused by my psoriasis. I was not appreciative of this as I did mention multiple times that I had psoriasis before and during the bleaching process. They very much made it feel like it was my own fault that this had occurred by being so persistent. I am grateful for the refund but will not be returning to this salon.

I cannot recommend the salon enough! Great location, accessible parking, and easy to find. I see Sarah, but all the staff are lovely and welcoming. I went as an emergency at 41 weeks pregnant (4 years ago now) after a dodgy box dye! They squeezed me in and made me feel a million dollars. I suffer with hair loss, greasy hair I am and always changing my mind on colour. Nothing is ever too much, and Sarah is always realistic with me about how it will turn out, and always makes sure it's what's best for my hair! Best service I've ever had. Will always recommend Michelle's to everyone!

Sarah has been cutting and colouring my hair for years, and it’s always amazing. The team are friendly, and always happy to offer advice. Can’t recommend them enough.

A massive thank you to the staff at this friendly salon when I arrived for my first appointment today. There was no trace of my booking (I've since discovered that I made it at Michelle's Hair in Congleton, Cheshire accidentally!!) I was welcomed in regardless, and Kelly did a fantastic job of cutting and styling my hair within an hour. I'll definitely be back and highly recommend this hair salon for its genuine warmth and great customer service.
