I’ve been using Motec for decades for various cars and have always found them to be super helpful, a pleasure to deal with and fair pricing. Ignore those couple of one star reviews as, from my experience, I doubt they ever happened
Tried to charge me £144 for cleaning out the tiny windscreen scuttle drains. Little did they know I’ve had a lot of experience with car issues and garages and knew they were ripping me off. DO NOT USE THIS GARAGE! Especially if you’re a young woman, they will try and rip you off. They also hurled abuse at me as I left the garage… very professional. Kwik fit are a great shout! Xx
I took my Honda Insight here for an MOT as I lived around the corner at the time. A couple of hours after dropping it off, I received a call telling me that the car needed £300–400 worth of repairs, including replacing the “LED” lights. However, my car has never had LED lights, so it was clear they were trying to rip me off. It felt like they thought I was a young and naive student they could take advantage of but I wasn’t falling for it. While the reviews for this place might be positive, my experience was utterly shameful.
As an old mechanical engineer I was recommended to use Motec on my partner’s car, suffice to say they did such a good job all around that I have since taken my step daughter’s car there to be checked and rectified. Again the guys did a great job hence this review. 5 stars all around.
I have been coming to Motec for a number of years now. They are such a lovely and approachable set of lads. They communicate well and are so open and honest with telling you all the issues, prices and alternatives. There’s no pressure from them either. You know your car is in safe hands with them
Just picked up my Ford Kuga from Motec after an MOT. Dean and Russ sorted out the front brake pads (which I knew would be an issue) for an extremely good price and passed it with no issues. On picking it up I found that they had washed it and given it a hoover. Fantastic service from beginning to end. This is my go to garage from now on. Highly recommended! Edited: just been back to pick up my daughter’s car that needed an MOT and a little work needed to pass. Once again, an absolutely first class job by the boys at Motec. Can’t recommend them highly enough. +++++
Finally a RELIABLE and TRUSTWORTHY mechanic!! They checked a noise on my car for me, I was adamant it was the fan belt however they stated that there was no problem with my car, I took it for a second opinion and it's been confirmed that there is no issue. These guys could have easily charged me for the time they spent checking and could have made charged me unnecessarily however they did not. Thanks you, definatly plan to bring my car back when needed.
I took my car in for servicing at Motec and have to commend their service. Booking process by telephone was easy, the team there were very friendly, and service of my vehicle was comprehensive. Even with small details such as cleaning the sides of the car. Decent value, especially compared to local providers, with clear itemisation of the costs. Will definitely be returning.
Took my KA in last month to get a couple of issues sorted and for an MOT. Really happy with the service provided, super helpful staff and great prices. They even cleaned the inside and outside of the car for me. Gained a loyal customer here!
Took my Corolla in here for what turned out to be a sticking caliper and also needed an MOT. Guys at the shop were super nice and after dropping my car off at 8 it was done by noon. Very fast service and very fair price. Glad to have found a garage I trust in Sheff and will definitely be back.
