   I’ve just bought my first car, a Vauxhall Adam, from NR Bates. My Dad recommended them to me as my family have had 3 cars (now 4) from them, and they definitely don’t disappoint! The car is in impeccable condition, and NR bates provided a full 12 month MOT with the purchase. Fully vetted & serviced, and for a 2015 reg car, i would have thought it came out of a showroom. One very respectable, friendly, family-run business who are the epitome of excellence. Jo and Richard provided an outstanding service, and helped me through every step of the process.    N R Bates are the best. Aygo ICE had an battery warning light on its dash. One phone call to the garage and it was booked in straight away and fixed in under four hours on a busy Saturday morning. Can't thank these guys enough. Car repaired and running as new. Great garage will recommend to others.

   I bought a car recently from here. I was taken on an extensive test drive and invited to drive the vehicle. The car initially had a couple of problems, but N R Bates have been brilliant in putting things right. I can not praise them enough. There was no pressure to buy, good prices and included warranty. As a local I know this company has been here for over 50 years, which says a lot. Aubury and the team are 1st class.

   These guys are excellent at service and repairs. Great diagnosis of the fault and very reasonable parts and labour. My wife will be back for her MOT in February after the great brake repairs they did to her Toyota Yaris today. She has been there before for a replacement starter motor which was also very reasonably priced.

   At garage my husband asked if we purchased this car, how long before we can collect and was told 3days. Sold our car privately at home, purchased this car over the phone straight away and paid for it, then told it will be 7days before we can collect, so we were left four days with no car, not happy. On pick-up, the salesman knew we had travelled from Darlington and did not know the area. Picked car up, I set off in front, husband following, then when he set off the fuel warning light immediately came on. Not happy 1) not warned there was no fuel in it before he set off .2) not told where nearest petrol station was. Unbelievably mean of garage and the salesman. He was left following me trying to get my attention and stop before we got onto the motorway, which he could not , so travelling on motorway he was worried sick as he was driving on fumes until he could get to a fuel station. Not happy!!! Worst experience of buying a car, besides from that the car is fine.

   Bought a car from Bates many years ago as a young driver. Found the vehicle (amongst other faults) would cut out every morning. Knowing I was a car mechanic they told me they would have to "let me take a look at that myself" . They were simply not interested once they had my money off me. Looking at some of the more up to date reviews it seems little has changed.

   Just wanted to share the great experience I have recently had with NR Bates. I simply called in with the issue I was having with my sons car and was asked to leave it with them. After discussing what the potential problem would be I went away leaving the car there. Within half a day I received a phone call to say that it was ready to collect. Amazing........ I can't stress that this is impeccable service and would highly recommend this garage to anyone. Thank you to Richard and his team.
