   I phoned two garages for quotes to replace a starter motor. The first quoted £180 parts and labour included. Phoned Volks Tek and they quoted the same and I checked that Vat and everything was included in that and he said yes it was. So, I booked it in as I had used them before. When I got the call to say it was ready, I was informed that the bill was £277 and when I said I was quoted £180 the guy said no it's definitely £277, you must have mis-heard. I got to the garage and again , questionned the bill, saying I was definitely quoted £180, was that just the part then? He said no, it was me you spoke to and I never said 180. The part was £140 plus vat so that's not even the right amount...but it is. He denied he had omitted the labour costs. I had to pay the extra hundred out of the kids money as I didn't even have that much. I felt robbed, I paid 50% more than I needed to. I will never again accept a verbal quote. Fingers burnt. Trust in Volks-Tek destroyed.

   Dreadful. Booked my VW in with known clogged dpf and non-running. After 2 weeks theyd only spent 3 hours on it! Took them 4 weeks to diagnose and fix a faulty sensor. They then said they couldn't sort the dpf after all. Wouldn't recommend anywhere to go or who could help, they just lost interest. Communication appalling, had to chase week after week for an update and got almost nothing, no update no plan no list of what they had tried to fix it. It seemed like it was all too much trouble for them. If you want expertise with VWs I'd suggest you go elsewhere.

   Excellent VW specialist. Replaced the camshaft on my 2004 T5 (not a job for amateurs!!) - fairly priced, genuine parts, good turnaround time and genuine people. Will be back for any VW specific jobs. Highly recommended.

   Issue with rear windscreen washer jet. Phoned up for advice, advised to bring my car in to the garage so the team could take a look. Did this with no appointment, immediate service, Phil & Gary investigated, found their was a blockage, cleared the blockage, reassembled the light into its housing, checked both the brake light and washer jet were working, only took half an hour. Would not accept payment for this job. So helpful, sound advice, great team. Thank you!
