Okay, wow, this place is seriously amazing! Had such a great time. The staff were all really friendly and knew what they were talking about. And the best part? It's a total bargain, with tons of choices, and everything's top-notch. You've gotta check it out! Recommended.
I had a really terrible time at the shop due to one staff member. The shop was quite empty and fixtures and fittings, even some of the clothing look quite outdated But most of the staff were quite cheerful and happy to help. Unfortunately, I would have to give one star (less if I could )because of this one particular staff member who spoilt me and my family members day out by having such a bad attitude and rude mouth when a tag was accidentally left on our item of clothing we purchased as we walked out the door, she spoke to us in such an appalling manner, like we were thieves saying you come back here trying to search both of us even after we produced a receipt she proceeded to argue with us about what was right and what was wrong? Not even taking accountability for the mistake no sorry just a very bad attitude and for this reason I will never be setting foot in that Matalan ever again This particular staff member was acting above her station. She seemed very power hungry determined to make a point and intended to humiliate me and my family member because of another staff members mistake . The staff member that left the security tag on did apologise but no apologies from the rude Somalian female supervisor who started arguing with me rather than just saying, I’ll take the tag off and apologising.
Absolutely disappointing! Not having a men’s section at all on Oxford street!!! Are you serious?!! Also, no one picks up the phone as it crossed my mind to call beforehand.
Stalked / Harassed by front door security guard - completely unacceptable. Yesterday I popped in to Matalan sometime between 4:15 - 4:45. When I walked in the security guard - a short, bearded, middle aged man with some kind of white cap / headgear - was standing by front door. I wandered around the store looking at a few things and when I got to the end of the store I realised that every time I looked up this man was around me. I got uncomfortable and left that area quickly. Again I turned around and he was right there. I started to get really freaked out and walked much faster - AGAIN he was hot on my heels. Part of my wanted to shout at him because he was clearly trailing me around the shop but I didn’t want to cause a scene. I stormed out of the store and I was Shaken and FUMING! I have never experienced this kind of behaviour and I really hope Matalan takes action because he is making your customers feel incredibly unsafe. You must deal with this creepy stalker immediately. I hate to imagine how many other women he’s been doing this to and getting away with it. I’m more than happy to discuss further to work this out so please get in touch

Went in to Matalan today to buy a pair of trousers only to be told they do not have a mens department. I'm sorry but if women were told there was no womens department there would be an outcry, the feminists would be having a field day with cries of discrimination. Come on Matalan get your act together and stop living in the stone age!!
Placed an order on 05.12 expected delivery date 08-10.12 08.12 Evri sends email: Not long now 17.12 I am calling customer service for them to tell me thay my parcel is marked as Lost and they will proceed with a refund. If I was not calling them and have forgotten about my purchase they would have just stolen my money. The customer service guy said that the customer has to call otherwise they don't let customers know. That's a scam and I will take legal action. Anyone with me, let me know so we do it together.
My complete bag got stolen from my baby pram while shopping. They even not help to check the cctv. They are saying their cctv is not working. They are not helpful or they don't care about their customer..It happened on 3rd of nov 2022. If owner can help with the cctv it will be a great help. I have the bill with time so you need to check short period time footage. But if its true that you people don't have cctv camera in your store, then its a big shame for you.
Better selection of clothes than they had before, could still do with a better selection of older boys clothes. Hadn't shopped there for quite some time, but went in a few days ago and picked out quite a few items for my daughter. Didn't realise they had self service machines now....these are not a good idea for people who have a lot of items. Makes the transaction really slow and a long wait for people in the queue. When I got to the machine there was a man on the machine next to mine....I was quite slow but the poor man was still there scanning when I left. It's really ridiculous be honest, as most people won't have a clue and it makes waiting times twice as long. Then, there's still some type of security sticker underneath shoes which staff need to swipe, so what's the point? Not a good idea at all!!!!
Good shop reasonable prices and quality. The service is absolutely amazing, the shop assistants are fantastic and very knowledgeable about the ranges the shop offers.
