   Went to Holgate barbers for the 1st time after a recommendation from a mate and was very happy. The barber took his time to ensure a quality finish with the fade i asked for and it was a very fair price. The barber was also very friendly, would definitely go back again!

   My previous review five stars: "Fantastic barbershop, I had a great experience here. Great skin fade and close shave with hot towel experience. Thank you". Went again today 18/08 and was met with a sleeping barber unable to cut my beard evenly, when I asked him to take another look he started taking chunks out without taking a proper look. Disappointed after a great previous experience.

   I’ve been using Holgate Barbers for nearly 2 years now, and I can honestly say that you don’t need to go anywhere else. The guys really take care of you, they remember the small details which you tell them when you get a cut and then once you come back next time they make sure to remind you that last time you mentioned you like it this way. The service is amazing. Best barbershop in york.

   Discovered this Barber this year. Immediately impressed with the quality and consistency of the cut. They are always welcoming and I am always happy with the results. (More importantly so is my wife) I already considered them the best in York. Now they have a special offer for Christmas they are the best value in town. Don't waste time with booking a slot at a barbers that charge over the odds. Just walk in here and get the same quality for (honestly, no joke) half the price of some outlets in central York.
